Special session: Bush says he'll ask Legislature to increase prison spendi

TALLAHASSEE -- Gov. Jeb Bush said Monday he will ask lawmakers to increase spending for the state prison system while they're at the Capitol this week for a special session on medical malpractice insurance.

Bush said the expected number of new prisoners has grown since the Department of Corrections budget was crafted, but that the estimate of incoming state tax dollars has grown, too.

``We undercounted the number of prisoners we anticipated,'' Bush said. ``In order to make sure we don't release prisoners early or do anything foolish we need to ... accelerate our efforts to build more capacity.''

That's why his daughter didn't go to prison for commiting a felony. There wasn't enought room for her!!! And here I thought she got special treatment seeing how Jeb and the repugs think drug addicts should be imprisoned and all...
