Michael Moore set to take the heat from 'Fahrenheit 911'

WASHINGTON (AFP) - Feisty Michael Moore said he is poised to retaliate for any attacks on his anti-Bush film, "Fahrenheit 911," whose US premiere is days away.


"We are not going to tolerate anyone trying to smear this film or the things that we're trying to say," the US filmmaker told ABC's "This Week."


"Fahrenheit 911" stirred controversy in the United States, where the documentary had trouble finding a distributor. The top-winning film at the Cannes International Film Festival will finally be released Friday on nearly a thousand screens.


Moore, an iconoclast and pamphleteer, makes no bones about his motive for making the film, which takes President George W. Bush (news - web sites) to task in the runup to the November 2 general election.


"I would like to see Mr. Bush removed from the White House," he told the television network.

5. One or two major theater chains have been on the fence about it

One is supposed to be having a big meeting about it Monday morning. Sounds like some decisions have been made in our favor! I just hope there won't be any incidents of people trying to shout it down in the theaters or stuff like that.

I've been a long-time DU lurker. I never thought I had anything important to say, especially since there are so many intelligent folks here already saying it better than I. Maybe I'll get better at typing - the major obstacle for me in the first place - though I guess two-fingered typing can only go so far and fast.

Yes, Armstrong left a lifelong impression and he's one of the reasons why I learned to play trumpet. The main reason was because it was LOUDER than a clarinet. Then when I was a teen I discovered the electric guitar, much to the consternation of my family, neighbors and police. Hendrix sounded better on a guitar anyway.

He told Georgie that it was all the media's fault that these horrible things are happening because THEY DIDN'T ASK ANY QUESTIONS in the lead up to war... And Georgie just sat there....
And when he said that Kennedy was lying, he said he had the clip of the interview (and the transcript) on his web site.
Then Georgie read a statement by Kennedy saying that what Michael had said was true (he had no relatives in Iraq) but that he had told Michael that his nephew was going to Afghanistan in a week (NOT IRAQ, Afghanistan, mind you.)

it's called libel, and yes, many of these "news people" and talking heads should be sued for propelling these lies.
