Mubarak fine after surgery, says minister
Cairo - Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak was "in good health" on Saturday after a morning operation in Germany for a slipped disc, Health Minister Mohammad Awad Tajeddin told state television from Munich.

"President Mubarak has undergone surgery for a slipped disc between his fourth and fifth vertebras and is currently in the recovery room where he is already speaking after regaining consciousness," Tajeddin said.

The veteran 76-year-old head of state's operation had originally been scheduled for Monday.
