He says it will be a few hours at minimum, and maybe well into the evening, before power returns.

They say all systems functioned as they should, shutting down due to the Niagra Mohawk Power Grid overload.

I remember reading that after the major earthquake in San Francisco, hundreds of panicked residents called 911 to report a suspicious patch of light in the sky during the night.

They were seeing the Milky Way, for the first time in their lives.

That caused my Comupter to turn off. All I had to do is turn it back on, but power had stopped long enough to turn the computer off. Johnstown in is the Pittsburgh Grid, but part of the connection to the Philadlphia and East Coast Grid. So it has hit in Western Pa but just for a few seconds.

probably the best thing to do is park your car where ever you're stuck and go to the closet bar. You want to tank up before stuff starts getting warm.

BTW: Not only are all the tunnels and bridges a mess all the airports are closed. It's a little difficult to land planes without power.

117. Cleveland update #2
My daughter is sitting outside her building watching for her staff as they exit the garage. It takes about 45 minutes to get out. She has cell phone capabilities when the lines are not too busy. Some people from other offices are stuck on the elevator. She plans to "chill" until everyone leaves. I have no idea how anyone can "chill" in the city in this weather.
