Sibel Edmonds Responds to Suit Dismissal
Sibel is planning an immediate appeal, and holding a press conference tomorrow (Thurs) at 1 pm. Ashcroft can try, but he can't silence this brave woman.

Sibel Edmonds Responds to Suit Dismissal

They are fighting it relentlessly all right! Now, this can be used to continue the gag on Congress, the quashing of any subpoenas for my deposition, and to prevent my information from appearing on the 9/11 Commission and DOJ-IG's reports.

The US District Court for the District of Columbia (Judge Reggie Walton) today dismissed my lawsuit on grounds of national security and the State Secret Privilege. The government had invoked the rarely used (though often used by the Bush Administration) state secrets privilege.

This decision comes in the immediate aftermath of the FBI/DOJ reclassifying information to serve its litigation advantage.

"The decision today represents another example of the Executive Branch's abusive nature of using secrecy as a weapon against Whistleblowers," said Mark S. Zaid, my attorney. "It is quite disappointingly evident that accountability is no longer a word in our Government's dictionary," he added. An immediate appeal is planned.

17. Any ideas when contacting the media what to include in the
email? Do you think a very terse email demanding this story be followed would suffice?

BTW silverofhope thanx for the list.

21. Let me just underscore and double-salute sliverofhope's advice.
This is absolutely essential, and WELL WORTH the revisit.

If you even use ONE of these. Even ONE, that's more than you otherwise might have done. That's one vote from OUR side to counter-balance one of many, many (and often angry, nasty and threatening) complaints from the dittohead/freeper contingent.

An insight WELL worth repeating from DUer grasswire...

"IF YOU REALLY WANT TO DO SOMETHING...make a phone call or send a paper letter. E-mails are quick and cheap and don't carry the weight of a phone call or a PAPER LETTER. Paul Begala says a hundred paper letters would change the direction of a news program. – DUer grasswire," 5/20/04

And here's more motivation, AND contact info besides...

A TESTIMONIAL from a fellow DUer here:

"will you please write that to media when you feel that way?"
(Posted by nofurylike)
i work on media rapid resonse, and you would be surprised how much difference it makes to write them. the more of us do, the more some really do double-take.

most news sources have a contact link, and even just a short, 'look again' to them matters - complete coherent explanations, even more so!

so do thank-yous to those who get things correct, and honest. that reinforcement makes a distinct difference.

keep on

peace

And finally, PLEASE NOTE MY SIG LINE – TO CALL YOUR REPS, TOLL FREE!!!

OR, TRY (877) – 762 – 8762. It’ll get you there, too! (Thank you, DUer redqueen!)

OR, there’s also 1-888-508-2974. This, too, gets you to the Capitol Hill Switchboard TOLL FREE. But sometimes it gets tied up.

Please note, here, The World's Greatest Lists of Media Contacts – updated May 5, 2004– in the following thread:

8. A true Catch-22 decision.

The court rules it's OK to invoke state secrets but can't tell us why because of state secrets!

http://www.dcd.uscourts.gov/walton-bio.html

Judge Reggie B. Walton assumed his position as a United States District Judge for the District of Columbia on October 29, 2001, after being nominated to the position by President George W. Bush and confirmed by the United States Senate. Judge Walton previously served as an Associate Judge of the Superior Court of the District of Columbia from 1981 to 1989 and 1991 to 2001, having been appointed to that position by Presidents Ronald Reagan in 1981 and George H. W. Bush in 1991. While serving on the Superior Court, Judge Walton was the court's Presiding Judge of the Family Division, Presiding Judge of the Domestic Violence Unit and Deputy Presiding Judge of the Criminal Division. Between 1989 and 1991, Judge Walton served as President George H. W. Bush's Associate Director of the Office of National Drug Control Policy in the Executive Office of the President and as President Bush's Senior White House Advisor for Crime.

11. Yes, Honor and Integrity...
rear their ugly heads again. Er, that is, the ugly try to save their rears from losing any more honor and integrity....

Sorry White House, sorry National Security Advisor. The public will see these records. You may blow up planes and hide behind the neverending rules you make up to protect yourselves from scrutiny, but the American people will see those records. Maybe not tomorrow, but soon. Is Jesus gonna save you now from your greed and your arrogance and your treachery against the American people? Remember, according to YOUR god, what you whisper in the closet will be shouted from the rooftops. I'll be listening......

18. Will her press conference be televised? If not, why not?
time for Moore to make a docu about this. That's the only way Americans will ever find out what is going on in their own country.

19.  Sibel Edmonds -- A Transparency Opportunity of a Lifetime
Anybody live in D.C. and got a few free hours once in while?
There is a need for warm bodies apears sometimes

(snip)
Now is the time to take a stand! I cannot stress enough
how CRITICAL it is for the 9-11 Truth movement to stop
the DOJ in this attempt to silence Sibel Edmonds. Our
success hinges on supporting those inside the machinery
of government who are willing to speak out. If we allow
the government to gag Sibel Edmonds, we will be sending
the wrong message to other potential truth-tellers. We
need to let those on the inside know the movement will
support them if they come forward.

I personally have sat in the court room alone for nine
years. No one came. No one cared. It is a brutal and
horrible experience. The DOJ lawyers laugh. The judges
laugh. My own attorneys felt the isolation.

Going to rallies and marches may be more fun, but we
MUST support the individuals who are confronting the
system from the inside. We need to march into court and
say "NO! You will NOT stop the truth from coming
forward!"

Is Sibel Edmonds telling the whole truth? I have no
idea. Is Sibel Edmonds a perfect person? Probably not.
But this is irrelevant. Sibel Edmonds is taking the
single most courageous act an insider could take -- to
publicly testify to the piece of the puzzle that she
knows, inside the very belly of the beast. And she is
going up against EXACTLY THE SAME PEOPLE AND NETWORKS
WHO ARE DOING THIS SAME THING TO ME.

Ashcroft Seeks Hitler-Style Dictatorship Measures
by Edward Spannaus

To understand the extraordinary powers being sought by U.S. Attorney General John Ashcroft under the rubric of anti-terrorism legislation, one must know the process by which the Nazi emergency measures, the Notverordnungen, were established in early 1933, on the pretext of the Reichstag fire.

As is discussed in this issue's Editorial, Adolf Hitler had been put into power by a circle of British and U.S. financiers, whose situation was becoming increasingly desperate at the time. Within a month, the Anglo-American-backed plotters of the Hitler coup d'état, arranged the Reichstag fire—immediately and falsely blamed on the Communists—which was used as a justification for the emergency police-state laws.

In January 2001, shortly after the nomination of John Ashcroft was announced, Lyndon LaRouche warned that we would soon see the outbreaks of provocations and wars, to which the Bush Administration would respond with crisis-management, Notverordnung-type emergency measures. If John Ashcroft were confirmed for U.S. Attorney General, LaRouche warned, he would be in a position of crucial responsibility as part of an Executive branch crisis-management team, at the point when the administation would be faced with an unavoidable series of financial and strategic crises.

LaRouche and his associates made a fight out of the Ashcroft nomination—on precisely this issue of the role that Ashcroft would play under crisis conditions. The leadership of the Democratic Party ducked the issue, even when the Senate Democrats clearly had the power to stop Ashcroft's confirmation as Attorney General. Today, there can be no doubt: that LaRouche was right, and they were wrong, in allowing Ashcroft's nomination to go through

Does LaRouche seem like that much a crazy person now?
