Call it Gallagher 411, a biopic movie short that's the latest headline grabber from Doug Gallagher, a self-described ''come-from-nowhere'' Republican candidate for the U.S. Senate in Florida.
The self-made millionaire, who is pumping $3 million and counting into his campaign, released a trailer Wednesday of the movie that he intends to debut July 21 at the Tower Theater in
Little Havana. Gallagher wouldn't say when and where else it would appear.
A likely first in Florida politics, the movie casts the Coral Gables businessman as an outsider in an eight-candidate race dominated by lawyers. Gallagher said it will also feature his campaign themes: low taxes, support of the president, limits on lawsuits and support for embryonic stem-cell research.
Amidst the policy, the movie weaves in humorous shots of gray-haired go-along senators applying Washington logic to the simple task of dining: When they sit down for lunch, the camera closes in to show a senator trying to eat soup with a fork.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Miami, FL - Doug Gallagher, candidate for the Republican nomination for the U.S. Senate in Florida, today claimed Miami-Dade as "Gallagher County" after garnering strong support for his candidacy from State Representative Gus Barreiro (R-Miami), who Gallagher also named as Miami-Dade Campaign Chairman, one of Miami-Dade County's leading Cuban-American state legislators.
