2. CNN just mentioned the possibility of....
DECADES of jail time.
(Until Bush pardons him before he leaves office in January.)

4. AWOL Will Pardon His Buddy.. It's just a stunt for another RNC commercial
just like how Powell is suddenly pretending to "care" about the brown skinned people in Sudan. Everything they do is a publicity stunt with the election in mind..

15. Remember the Rich pardon
and the media firestorm over it? Wonder if a Lay pardon will generate a fraction of the manufactured "outrage". Its WAY past time to end the power of the WH to issue pardons to cover their crimes, STOP it now.

Enron Corp. founder and former Chairman Ken Lay, who built the quiet pipeline company into one of the world's largest energy groups, surrendered to authorities on Thursday after being indicted for his role in the scandal that destroyed the company.

Lay, 62, appeared calm and relaxed as he entered FBI (news - web sites) offices in Houston. He declined to comment, but in a statement Wednesday he said he has done nothing wrong and the indictment is not justified.

Lay appeared at the FBI office in Houston just after 6 a.m. CT (7 a.m. ET). He was later led away to the federal courthouse in Houston with his hands cuffed behind his back. He told reporters he will be talking to the press after his indictment is unsealed later Thursday.

13. The bbcamerica report (pre-frogmarch) mentioned the election.
An old clip of Bush Sr in deep conversation with Kenny Boy while Bush Jr greeted people in the foreground was followed by KB's welcoming speech when the Republicans convened in Houston.

BBC just had to mention that there were political ramifications to this arrest.

14. Let's count the US press mentions of:
Kennie Boy on the president's transition team in 2000.

Kennie Boy on Pork Chop Boy's Energy Task Force.

KB and Enron being the biggest (public) bushco patron.

So far my count is '0'. But it was nice hearing Mark call him "Kennie Boy".

21. CNN Coverage vs. USA Today
On the CNN.com website, they only show a face picture of the tick. On USA Today, they show the tick in handcuffs, doing the perp walk.

CNN.Com makes no mention of his ties to Bush. On the USA Today website, they have the following:

Lay enjoyed a close relationship with the first President Bush and was a fundraiser for the current President Bush's campaign against Al Gore in 2000, earning his own nickname from the nation's chief executive: "Kenny Boy."

According to the Center for Public Integrity, Enron executives contributed more than $600,000 to Bush campaigns, making Enron the second-largest contributor to the president's political career, behind credit card giant MBNA.

You be the judge of who is the bigger repuke spinsite:

CNN:

USA Today:

CNN just saaid"Federal prosecuters now have the jewel of the crown in their possession". Don't know that I'd have put it quite that way, but I'm still cheering!
