Idi Amin seeks kidney donor...

The ailing former President of Uganda Idi Amin Dada is seeking a kidney to keep him alive, according to his son, Hashim Amin.
Two kidneys donated by anonymous donors were found to be incompatible with those of the former military strongman.

Hashim Amin told the BBC's Ali Mutasa in Kampala that two more donors had come forward and that his father was surviving through a haemo-dialysis machine which acts as an external kidney.

Last month, the 78-year-old Idi Amin was admitted to the King Faisal Specialist Hospital in the Saudi Arabian port of Jeddah, where he has remained ever since.

7. I guess he's not quite dead.
Wow. I was certain he died, too. I'm positive I saw it all over the news. Here's a link from the Moonie Times, from two days ago, claiming Amin's been getting death threats:

http://washingtontimes.com/upi-breaking/20030812-090231-7882r.htm
JEDDAH, Saudi Arabia, Aug. 12 (UPI) -- A Saudia Arabian hospital source tells Allafrica.com former Ugandan leader Idi Amin is expected to die within a few days.

Amin, 78, has been undergoing intensive treatment at a hospital in Jeddah, Saudia Arabia, where he has reportedly received death threats.

South African state radio quoted a source at the hospital as saying the threats were made anonymously by telephone.

9. Just guessing, but I think it's a long shot
I'm sure there are lots of folks who'd be willing to donate a bullet to ease his suffering, but probably not a kidney.

He doesn't deserve a kidney. Give it to a kid, maybe to a grandkid of a father he tortured.

He was one of the worst.

12. IIRC lots of people posted in LBN that he was dead......
but few posted links to stories and those that did posted stories that said he was "nearing death".

I seem to recall that I explained that he wasn't yet dead, but I presume it was wishful thinking from everybody.

22. Find the kidney thieves
that drug unwary travelers and then put them in a tub of ice to cut out and steal their kidneys to sell the black market. Am sure one of those thieves would be glad to help Idi in his quest for a donor.

It's strange to think someone is dead and then find out they're not. I guess the old saying applies, God doesn't want him and the devil isn't ready for him.
