http://ap.tbo.com/ap/breaking/MGBHX1Z6GWD.html

OAKLAND, Calif. (AP) - A man has been arrested for allegedly stealing about 200 pounds of explosives and bomb-making hardware from a storage locker used by police and sheriffs, authorities said.

Michael Alexander Allan, 46, was taken into custody Thursday for allegedly stealing explosives from storage magazines in a depot used by the San Francisco Police Department and the San Mateo County Sheriff's office.

The stolen items included 75 feet of "det sheet" and 30 to 35 pounds of C4, both explosives used by the military; 114 pounds of other explosives; and approximately 800 blasting caps and 1,700 feet of detonation cord, said Marti McKee, a spokeswoman for the federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearm.

more...Wonder if this would be all over the news if this guy was an Arab or a Muslim?

2. My thoughts EXACTLY
We had a county emergency services director years ago who actually bought surplus bridging equipment and was pursuing purchasing a submarine.

Un-cheneying-believeable

5. MIGHT
have been in storage as evidence pending a trial, but i doubt it. my guess: they justify it as Emergency Ordinance Disposal gear, AKA bomb squad, but really use it to play "concrete commando".

we had a local "shurf' exposed here in GA for spending unmonitered anti-terr funds granted by "vaderland security" on ATV's & sniper rifles that he, deputies, & political supporters were actually using for deer hunting safaris.

most cops are amoral children.

9. There's a rule for using high explosives to destroy dangerous things
Like suspected bombs or old military ordnance found while digging in the hills (a common occurrence in much of California BTW):

"Too much is always better than not enough."

6. Did you see the pictures of the crappy little sheds they
kept the explosives in? Unbelievable. They look like they were locked up with a Masters bicycle chain lock.

Wellll let's see.... were you inundated with this on Fox?? Does Mr. Ashcroft use filters to decide what is and isn't important to inform the American people about? These were white supremacists in Tx If memory serves... however I hardly caught a hint of it on the telly. Many more pics at the link. Get this... HUNDREDS of subpoenas.

http://www.thememoryhole.org/terror/tyler-terror.htm
>>> In May 2003, white supremacists in Texas were caught with a sodium cyanide bomb, other bombs, illegal weapons, hate literature, fake I.D., and chemicals, including hydrochloric acid and nitric acid. In mid-November, three people pleaded guilty to related charges, while seized documents indicate that there are other co-conspirators at large. The feds have served "hundreds of subpoenas across the country," and the plot has been included in the President's daily intelligence briefings.<<<
