Politicians must not escape blame over Iraq intel errors: British press
http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&cid=1504&ncid=1504&e=5&u=/afp/20040710/ts_afp/us_intelligence_iraq_040710014827

LONDON, (AFP) - The US intelligence community should not be made to shoulder full responsibility for misjudging Saddam Hussein (news - web sites)'s weapons capability ahead of last year's Iraq (news - web sites) war, British newspapers said after a Senate investigation exonorated US politicians of blame.

The Financial Times described as "implausible" the investigation's decision to exonerate US President George W. Bush (news - web sites)'s administration from putting pressure on the intelligence agencies.

"Like all government organisations, the Central Intelligence Agency (news - web sites) devotes its limited resources to meeting the demands of its political masters," the business daily said.

It added that it was the "politicians who must account for the death and destruction of the Iraq war -- and the consequences as they continue to unfold".

3. Implausable--is that a British word?
the problem is that an indictment of Bush, is, additionally, an indictment of Congress. Remember all those guys that thought handing an idiot who came complete with an entourage left over from his father's war on Iraq, was a good idea. Doesn't it seem strange that they never bothered to do the research and just ransomed our country to a man with the intelligence of a slug, and his Halliburton buddy. No one understood that taking Iraq would most certainly stuff the coiffers of Dick Cheney either I guess. We were conned and we were duped by them all. Shame on America.

You see, a scapegoat to blame like the dumb CIA, who were floundering and flopping around like a fish on a line because they were just sooooo dumb and just ssoooooo incompetent that they could give Bush no good information--being that they could not give him any good information, he just kept Tenet on, in the implausable belief that Tenet might become born again and shape up the entire, incompetant CIA and give him good information --the richest country in the world and we are to believe the intelligence agencies here are all dumbasses -- well a scapegoat like that pretty much absolves the congress from it's complicity also.
