Australia defends Iraq invasion
Australia has defended its decision to join the invasion of Iraq, despite a US Senate report criticising intelligence on the threat posed by Saddam Hussein.

Foreign Minister Alexander Downer said the overthrow of the former regime was justified because Iraq had chemical and biological weapons programmes.

Australia deployed 2,000 troops to the US-led invasion.

Opposition politicians said the government took the country to war based on a lie.

3. Coalition of the schilling
US, Britain, Austrailia. If the citizens of our countries can't or won't toss our lying politicians out on their asses then maybe Armageddon IS the only answer.

I'm sure if reelected they'll do their best to ensure our children have a bright and shiny radioactive future. Blair, Howard and Bush; what a trio of pond scum, all advancing Ariel Sharon's agenda to neuter all nations that are inclined to give Israel what it's been asking for; a severe ass kicking.

4. They're now talking about the wonderful democracy in Iraq.
So it was all worthwhile. Never mind that Iraq has an unelected
government that does the bidding of its imperial masters, if Bush
and Co. says it's a democracy, you better believe it.

It seems incredible that anyone could fall for this, but the major
media outlets are not asking Howard and his cronies the hard
questions, and I'm afraid that too many people just swallow the
lies.

If the Democrats do win in November, and if Labor wins here whenever,
I think they must move to break up media monopolies - they are the
greatest threat to real democracy in our society. (Even though I
am aware that it was Labor, under Hawke and Keating, who gave so
much power to Packer and Murdoch here). It was one of their
biggest mistakes.

At the first opportunity.
