BAQUBA (Reuters) - Hundreds of Iraqis demonstrated Sunday in support of ousted President Saddam Hussein (news - web sites) in the town of Baquba, northeast of Baghdad, witnesses said.

Masked gunmen led the protesters marching through the mixed Sunni-Shi'ite town chanting against Iraq's new Prime Minister Iyad Allawi. They shouted: "We sacrifice our souls and blood for you, Saddam" and "No, no to Allawi."

....

A handful of anti-Saddam demonstrators gathered in a central Baghdad square Sunday to burn his effigy and call for his execution. They unfurled a banner that read: "Defending Saddam is defending brutality and crime."

2. you silly geese
Don't you know we have to keep shooting until we force democracy down their throats, Bush Style? Sheesh, you think we WANT them to really have their own choices and leaders? Look what happened last time they did.

Time for marshal law. Time to arrest anyone supporting him and put them in jail. WE've got some great CIA and indie contractors that will teach them a thing or two, plus Justice has given us the OK!.

3. anti-Saddam demos..
There's been others, interesting enough to not cover of course. The Sadrists from the eastern suburb of the capital have been demonstrating against him as well, calling for his execution (I don't think this is it, because at any time they are far, far more than a "handful" as this article uses; these were probably some plants from the collaborator parties on orders from above, and this is all they can manage to scrape together). The Islamic resistance in Fallujah has been preventing any pro-Saddam displays.
