1. That makes seven for the weekend
4 Marines in "vehicle accident," al-Anbar
1 Task Force Olympia, killed in bomb attack, south of Mosul
2 1ID killed in roadside bomb attack, Samarra.

29 for the month, 33 since "the end of the occupation."

13. Thank you for the breakdown
It gets so confusing trying to keep up with the totals.

5. I think it makes 3 for today
Edited on Sun Jul-11-04 03:00 PM by crunchyfrog
The 1000 number refers to coalition troops of all nationalities. The 875, (actually, I think it's closer to 887), refers to U.S. troops.

Edit: Oops, I meant that as a reply to post #2.

6. Yes, this make 887
It never stops, and won't even when we leave the country, that's when it comes home. PTSD, will make many homefront casualties that won't be counted either.

8. I heard on NPR this morning that four Marines were killed Sunday
and one soldier. I'm not sure if this is the incidence of the soldier and another has since died. What a sad, unending travesty.

10. Nope, new incident
These soldiers are in Samarra. The TFO soldier was 90 miles south of Mosul. Different incident.

12. Would they just get the fucking point and stop commiting suicide?
They're not wanted in Samarra`. There are plenty of bombs and bullets lying around to beat this point into their heads, but how clear must it be made?
