Separate Attacks Kill 3 Soldiers in Iraq
The earlier attack may have already been reported. I think the two killed, three wounded in Samarra is new.

Separate Attacks Kill 3 Soldiers in Iraq

By RAVI NESSMAN, Associated Press Writer

BAGHDAD, Iraq - Insurgents ambushed two U.S. military patrols north of Baghdad on Sunday, separate attacks that killed three U.S. soldiers and an Iraqi civilian.

...

A roadside bomb attack on a U.S. patrol in the city of Samarra, a hotbed of violence 60 miles north of Baghdad, killed two soldiers on patrol Sunday afternoon and wounded three others, the military said.

An earlier attack on a U.S. convoy in Beiji, 90 miles south of the northern city of Mosul, began Sunday morning when a roadside bomb exploded next to the patrol, the military said.

An enemy vehicle then raced toward the convoy, firing at the soldiers, who shot back and killed the driver, the military said.

5. why does bush* wear a bullet-proof vest and bring SS when
visiting MILITARY BASES.....

that always seems real odd to me...like the Secret Service (SS) people are going to protect the chimp, in case the people around him (the United States Military) attack him...and why wear a bullet proof vest in front of the military that he commands...isn't that unusual?? strange?

3. a U.S. patrol in the city of Samarra-I question this
US occupation troops retreated from the positions they
occupied on Thursday in the city of Samarra’ during hard
fighting with Iraqi Resistance forces there.  Al-‘Alam TV
news reported a source in the Iraqi puppet military as saying
that Samarra’ and its environs no longer had any
American military presence.

Unless you're talking about a bypass 15 KM away,
Samarra being the closest city.

4. From the Telegraph-Saddam loyalists turn Iraqi city into no-go area
For almost a fortnight, Samarra - like Fallujah - has been
an outlaw town and a no-go area for the American-
led Multi-National Force.

Professional soldiers who knew how to gauge and range
an artillery piece were in charge, an alarming development
for the Americans who have endured deadly but mostly
scattered showers of "iron rain" during the year-old
uprising
