White House T-Ball Season Kicks Off
WASHINGTON - President Bush (news - web sites) led youngsters in the Little League pledge on a muggy Sunday as the second game of the White House T-ball season began on the South Lawn.

The temperature was 86 degrees with barely a breeze to cool fans or players — this time mentally and physically disabled children from Delaware and Pennsylvania. Part of the Little League's Challenger Division, the players, including a few who rounded the bases in wheelchairs, were accompanied on the field by "buddies," who are not disabled.

The president and first lady Laura Bush watched from the bleachers, which were set up in the shade. The Marine Band, seated in a shaded area behind left field, played "Take Me Out To The Ball Game." But the players batted and fielded the ball under an oppressive afternoon sun.

1. ain't that swell?
they enclose their house with a huge green fence andnow they pretend to be all for kids and throw this big party for the kids of only those who support them.]

They all go along with this in the hopes there will be some real good photos of them, especially Laura and the rictus smile looking somewhere else where no one else is looking, with the little kids

did they pat them down this year? Anyone know?

6. If Bush REALLY CARED!!!!

He would take some of that money he never earned and donate it to build little league fields across the nation. Imagine it, hundreds of "Bush Fields" across the nation as a testament to this mans generosity.

Nope, instead we get photo-ops. Bush shouldn't flatter himself with providing kids an opportunity to "visit the White House". If you asked those kids where they'd like to travel, they'd all say DisneyWorld.

One thing this does put in perspective is the Al Franken 9/11 exit strategy. That is, he could have kindly excused himself and promised to bring all the kids to the White House to visit. It doesn't seem all that impractical now with Bush trucking in T-Ball teams from across the nation on the public funds to show how "generous" he is.

8. The Franken exit strategy, though good, is moot
George knew that a commerical airliner had hit a WTC tower before he left for the school, so he shouldn't have been in the classroom in the first place.
