Ron Reagan to address Democratic convention

LOS ANGELES - (KRT) - In a move sure to embarrass Republicans, Ron Reagan will address the Democratic National Convention this month.

Reagan, son of former President Ronald Reagan and an outspoken critic of the Bush administration, will be at the podium on the second night of the four-day event in Boston, July 27, in support of stem-cell research, he said Sunday in an interview here.

David Wade, a spokesman for Democratic presidential candidate John Kerry, confirmed Reagan's appearance, but sources said the date had not been determined. Scott Stanzel, press secretary for President Bush's campaign, declined to comment.

I love it....I wish I could find the thread, but I wrote in a posting after RR's death and funeral that Jr. was going to come out against the Bu$h/FUCHeney administration and possibly speak at the Dem Convention...

I am smiling right now....this will confuse the hell out of all the Reagan Republicans and make the Bushites think twice about trying to evoke St. Ron's name in their own....

12. I don't know if Nancy....

....will walk on stage, but it would be nice. I was talking to some friends the other day about how Ron,Jr. has come out as a Democrat, and how he has been and will be ridiculed by the Republicans. Then we all thought at the same time, "Never attack a Mother's son, or you'll reap the wrath of the Mother". Mom's always love their babies. This is tough for the Repugs. If they go after him big time, you may see her motherly instincts kick in to protect her boy. Could you imagine the Queen Mother of the Republican Party coming out against them! That would be big time. Wishful thinking, but it would be sweet.

I really enjoy watching Ron Jr as an polical commentator on MSNBC, informative & really funny too. His appearance on Air America with Al Franken,was one of the best interviews, yet.
