Officials Want Election Rescheduling Rules
By THE ASSOCIATED PRESS

Published: July 13, 2004

Filed at 7:45 a.m. ET

WASHINGTON (AP) -- The head of a new federal voting commission suggested to congressional leaders Monday that there should be a process for canceling or rescheduling an election interrupted by terrorism, but national security adviser Condoleezza Rice said no such plan is being considered by the administration.

Federal officials warned last week that intelligence indicates al-Qaida wants to attack the United States to disrupt the upcoming elections.

``There does not appear to be a clear process in place to suspend or reschedule voting during an election if there is a major terrorist attack,'' DeForest B. Soaries, chairman of the U.S. Election Assistance Commission, wrote in a letter to Republican and Democratic leaders in the House and Senate. The Associated Press obtained a copy of the one-page letter.

2. I see it now !! it will be argued that it is independent decision outside
the Admins' control!! Somebody warned me last night that this was not over.. And I canceled an order of bumper stickers. I am beginning to think I was wrong.

7. their language, once again, gives them away
"not being considered" can be changed to "minds already made up" -

the media will, once again, make endless statements such as "the American people are being patient" and we shall without a bullet being fired, lose our country into the mist.

This is absolute horseshit.

We will not be "patient" and sit idly by while this Machiavellian cabal destroys our country.

Machiavellian

Psychology. of or relating to behavior in which a person purposely manipulates or misleads others in order to achieve his or her own personal goals.

3. I don't imagine she speaks

for the administration except in her fantasies. That's probably a good thing, because her so-called "expertise" was in Sovietology, which is an interesting bit of history but has no relevance in 2004 to the duties of a National Security Adviser.

Neither does her "husband," BTW. Another interesting fantasy she has there.

5. in response to this a.m.'s c-span question about postponing the election,
should there be a terrorist attack, i sent this email:

"i am an online visitor and participator in various forums, each serving tens of thousands of users, totaling hundreds of thousands of users, representing, very possibly, millions. they believe that this administration either made or let 9/11 happen, and they predicted, well before the attack in spain, that exactly what is being put out there now, by this administration, about terrorist attacks, and postponing the election, would come to pass! AND IT HAS!"

Perhaps something is up, perhaps not. But we, the public have no way of knowing.
