Lawmakers Call For WH Action On Outed CIA Spy
WASHINGTON (AFP) - One year after an undercover CIA (news - web sites) agent was outed in the US press, lawmakers in Congress expressed outrage that little apparent progress has been made in tracking down the government officials who revealed her identity.

2. Hmmm...looks like the "Wilson Lied" tactic is blowing up in their faces
They tried to leverage the Senate Intelligence Report to smear Wilson and make the Plame matter disappear. When those smears fizzled out due to internal contradiction and solid evidence, the campaign exposed itself to counter-attack. This seems like that counter-attack. Now the Rovites must show and prove some conflict or falsehood (impossible) or must hide from the demands (admission). What a tangled web we weave, Mr. Rove.

I suggest the State Legislatures start filing lawsuits against the
federal government

especially Washington DC ....and How US will ever again have a spy agency ...that people will trust to work for us is beyond hope

I saw CNN say People believe Bush protects them from terrorist better than Kerry

That is so Hillarious ....after this violation of the highest order

9. kerry should use this in the debates
the average american doesn't know about this atrocity, so when
kerry slams pretzel-boy in the debates about it, I'm guessing he
will stutter and stammer and get real red in the face.

Harkin said number of people who knew Plame's name and position could be counted on one hand--IOW, what's the hold up?

WTG, Harkin.

13. How Niger Uranium Story Defied Wide Skepticism
How Niger Uranium Story Defied Wide Skepticism
By JAMES RISEN
Published: July 14, 2004

<snip>
The C.I.A. first began looking into reports that Iraq was seeking uranium from Niger in October 2001, much earlier than previously disclosed. A foreign intelligence service, which is unidentified in the Senate report but which is believed to be Britain's, had said Niger was planning to ship several tons of uranium ore - called yellowcake - to Iraq. The foreign service told the C.I.A. that the Iraqi sales agreement dated to 1999, and had been approved by Niger's president, Tandja Mamadou.

At the time, analysts at the C.I.A., the Defense Intelligence Agency and the Department of Energy considered the reports of Iraq's purchases of uranium from Niger to be "possible"; only a State Department intelligence analyst thought the report was "highly suspect," the Senate found. The State Department analyst did not believe that Niger would risk selling uranium to Iraq, in violation of international rules, and also knew that a French consortium controlled Niger's uranium industry, making it nearly impossible for Niger to make large shipments on its own.

15. Repo's aiding and abetting a criminal cover-up
Edited on Wed Jul-14-04 03:24 PM by donkeyotay
Why is the party that represents the moral half of America getting away with obstructing justice? Why are Repo's putting partisan politics above the law? Isn't it a crime to conspire to cover-up a crime?
