Mass. Gov. Romney criticizes GOP administration, Kerry

WASHINGTON (AP) - Massachusetts Republican Gov. Mitt Romney criticized the Bush administration on Wednesday, saying the government engages in wasteful spending and often gives money to ensure Republican votes.

The government doles out money "based on who will vote for us or for our party: in effect, we buy votes," Romney said in remarks prepared for delivery. "We fund programs that don't work. We tolerate abuse and cheating in the multiples of billions of dollars."

The GOP governor is a former businessman who was CEO and president of the Salt Lake Organizing Committee for the Olympic games.

Romney also criticized Democratic presidential candidate John Kerry, arguing that his ties to trial lawyers and labor unions make the Democratic candidate "too conflicted to be president."

When the Mittster starts disassociating himself from the Chimp, be assured that the mal-administration's boat is sinking.

If he's bailing on 'em now, he's trying to avoid the mud-slide in November. Good sign.

8. well, he was actually hired to clean up the Salt Lake fiasco
That's besides the point. He is trying to attract national Republican attention to himself - that is the motivation behind his desperate assault on gay marriage ("tilting at windmills" in other words). Now, as a former big backer of Bush to criticize BushCo spending he's trying to portray him as a fiscal conservative, having established his social conservative bona fides on gay marriage.

Mitt's accomplishments have been pretty mild at best. Aside from assaulting the citizen's civil rights, I can't think of a single significant accomplishment of his governorship. Nothing. No major reforms, programs, tax cuts, nothin'.

Mitt Romney for President in 2008! He's doesn't DO ANYTHING! ;-)

9. He assaults Labor. Thinks we should all be his bitches.
This is a man that calls health insurance "a perk". He asked, "Why should labor unions get it when the bank tellers don't"

Well, why should Bain Capital get paid well when the bank tellers AND the State Employees don't?

Fucken idiot.

By the way...he's gay and is just trying to convince himself he isn't. JMHO

10. Thank god Bush and Cheney aren't "conflicted"
They know where their loyalty is, and it's not to America.

This is to confuse those "good Republicans" out there into thinking that theirs is a party that has reasonable debate and dissent; that these "good Republicans" are going to come to the rescue and talk some sense into Bush. Gives them a rationalization to excuse all the shit Bush has done and vote Pub again. Look at who they lined up for their convention. Bait and switch, that's all it is.
