'Choice' condoms in high demand at Aids forum

Free condoms from South Africa were snapped up like hot cakes at the Aids conference in Bangkok, the health department said on Thursday.

The department had provided 10 000 of the newly-branded "Choice" condoms for their exhibition at the conference, but halfway through the event these had all disappeared, said spokesperson Sibani Mngadi.

"Choice condoms were the first material to run out," he said.

In Thailand, as in many other countries, there were no free condoms for the general public, he said.
