Empty house bugging Eastwood neighbors since bank foreclosure

While their dwelling was left unattended, the bugs had been breeding and spreading, breeding and spreading.

Sound like a horror movie? Unfortunately, for the residents of a street in Eastwood, it was real.

<snip>

The house was abandoned three months ago by its occupants, who left a lot of food, garbage and other debris behind, Moorefield said.

<snip>

"People have told me the roaches are so bad they can't use their back yards," said Bob Nozeika, president of the Eastwood Community Civic Association.

<snip>

Before the bank took legal possession of the house, Moorefield said he managed to get a glimpse through an open basement door.

"Everything was in motion," he said. "Roaches were all over the floor."

...more...

blech....

1. So it's a metaphor for the current White House?
Seems like it.

3. Cite the bank...
"I think the bank is trying to cooperate a little bit more than they have been, but banks move at their own pace: slow as can be," Nozeika said. "That's why we went to the county councilman and code enforcement."

I had a run-in with the city once several years ago about my rain gutters. Believe me, the city doesn't take "slow as can be" for an excuse; you're given a date and if you don't do what they want at city hall by that date, you get fined for each day you're not in compliance. And those fines are hefty!!!

"Slow as can be?" B*llsh*t! So why doesn't this city just cite and fine the bank the same way it would any other owner?
