FBI warns al-Qaida may recruit non-Arabs
http://seattlepi.nwsource.com/national/apwashington_story.asp?category=1152&slug=FBI%20Terror%20Warning

By CURT ANDERSON
ASSOCIATED PRESS WRITER

WASHINGTON -- Al-Qaida may be recruiting non-Arabs less likely to attract the notice of security personnel to carry out attacks inside the United States, the FBI warned on Friday.

The terror network especially seeks operatives who have U.S. citizenship or legal residency status, the FBI's counterterrorism division said in its weekly bulletin to 18,000 law enforcement agencies nationwide.

... The new warning comes amid a continuous stream of intelligence indicating that al-Qaida is determined to strike the United States in the summer or fall. U.S. officials have said the terror network blamed for the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks hopes to inflict mass casualties again and disrupt the U.S. political process in this presidential election year.

The latest FBI bulletin again makes no mention of a possible time, place or method of attack. Security is expected to be especially tight at this summer's political conventions, which begin July 26 with the Democratic Party's gathering in Boston. The GOP convention is in late August.

i have no doubt that white supremacist/separatist groups and al qaeda would deal with the devil himself if they thought it to their advantage. such indigenous groups would be willing to act in coordination with al qaeda if it furthered their goals for violent overthrow of the government.

read david neiwart's orcinus website on this with his a "rush, newspeak and fascism" and other studies on american style fascism and home grown terrorism and what could be happening:

5. Doesn't this make way for non-ME people to be arrested via
Patriot Act I/II and jailed indefinitely w/o representation on suspicion of terra?

Doesn't it setup the fall for what is coming...THE BIG EVENT...which will be pulled off by non-ME people because it will have been planned and carried out by someone within our own government?

Again, they are always pre-staging events for reasons.

6. Bingo
Any citizen can be grabbed up and incarcerated without access to counsel and called a "terrist". Those of us who aren't brown shouldn't think we're safe.

They seem to have done quite well during this War on Terror.

10. these warnings are also convenient
these warnings are also convenient to pressure the press and the Senate committee charged with investigating the torture or innocent civilians in Iraqi prisons.

no doubt, the repukes are using the fear of inflaming the situation to apply psy. pressure to keep this under wraps (although Iraqis were already aware of the abuse of males as revealed earlier, and are also aware of these newest charges...so the only people who benefit from keeping Americans ignorant is the Bush League.)

no doubt Bush wants to keep the lid on the videotapes which, as Hersh notes, contain the shrieks of boys being sodomized as someone connected to our govt tapes these acts...and apparently, in some cases, the mothers of these boys were either witnesses to the act or maybe it was just the sounds of their children being raped by the US govt.

but, based upon the "torture justification" memos from Gonzalez and the AG's office, no doubt Al Qaeda would find it useful to attack the US at elections because Bush is the best thing they have going for them.

He and his crew make Al Qaeda look sympathetic in parts of the world.

And, you know, I think it's important to remember why these people were tortured. But first, it's imp. to remember that Gen. Taguba said that 60% or so of the people in these prisons were innocent. (The Int'l Red Cross est. 70%.)

And why were our troops in Iraq? Because Bush, Cheney, Powell, Rumsfield, Rice, Wolfowitz, and the OSP crew at the Pentagon said Saddam had WMD.

As David Kay recently noted in an interview in The Guardian, in response to Blair's contention that WMDs were in Iraq...to continue to make such claims was "delusional."

So, our troops were in Iraq because of intelligence lies, fabricated by Chalabi and Feith and Wurmser, et al. And our troops were trying to find out about these things from Iraqis...when they did not exist.

So people were being tortured because of lies told by the Bush administration. Children have been sodomized because of the lies Bush and the rest of his crew told to trick the American people into supporting a war.

It's really, really important for people to remember this, not simply if or when "Al Qaeda" attacks America again, but when the rest of the world utterly turns its back on America for refusing to hold these war criminals responsible for their actions.
