Journalist who reported on Allawi's alleged killings flees Iraq.
This was just reported on Australian tv. Paul McGeogh, who wrote the article which alleged Iraqi PM Allawi personally executed six Iraqis shortly prior to his promotion, has had to flee Iraq in fear of his life. Apparently pissing off brutal dictators can be a health hazard...

1. hopefully at some point the US media might wake from their dazed slumber..
... and maybe ask a few questions.

Nah, its probably easier to just listen to some goofy General and forget about that whole "investigation" thing.

6. Lavrenti Beria also wore "kindly grandfather glasses"
Alawi is as much a tool of the CIA as Beria was of Stalin.

9. goddammit Allawi was an assasin hand in hand with Saddam
and got the creep into power in the first place, now he's taken over.

Why the hell is he now running the place ?

4. The new American Saddam
We love Alawi in America! Not even the Democrats criticize him!

Meanwhile, an independent journalist has to flee for his life while the subservient lapdogs that we have for the press in America remains strangely silent about the entire affair.

at night... broken only by the screams of the detainees being tortured and raped...

10. Will this story ever be confirmed or firmly debunked?
Cau you imagine a Pres of the US murdering six men, accused of terrorism, who have not had a trial?

I feel that most of our Presidents weren't the most moral of men but this I cannot imagine.

and getting hired guns to do it, but the end result is the same.

14. I'm sure you've read the local press (e.g. SMH)...
Labor and the Greens are putting real pressure on Howard and Downer over this now... in fact, it might play a big role in getting the Libs kicked out of power if the story is true.

thrown out of office, same as junior & cheney.

11. So much for freedom of the press...
It seems that "Operation Iraqi Freedom" has brought the Iraqis an unelected, repressive, dictatorial regime.

13. America fears true freedom on the part of the "peasants and workers"!
We loved the tyrant Pinochet and hated the democratic Allende. We never criticized the Somoza dynasty in Nicaragua, but went bonkers when the Sandinistas won power. We loved Noriega and Saddam, until they stepped out of line.

America fears true freedom on the part of the "peasants and workers"!

21. Yep
While BushCo probably admires his "shoot from the hip" attitude , they're going to have to school this former Saddam thug in the ways of a more sutle murdering style.....and for craps sake , dummy , NO WITNESSES !
