Former Republican EPA chief criticizes Bush
As seen on The Raw Story, http://rawstory.com

By ERIK STETSON
Associated Press writer

CONCORD, N.H. (AP) - The head of the Environmental Protection Agency for two Republican presidents criticized President Bush's record on Monday, calling it a ``polluter protection'' policy.

Russell E. Train, who headed the EPA from September 1973 to January 1977 - part of the Nixon and Ford administrations - said Bush's record on the environment was so dismal that he would cast his vote for Democrat John Kerry.

``It's almost as if the motto of the administration in power today in Washington is not environmental protection, but polluter protection,'' Train said. ``I find this deeply disturbing.''

In 1988, Train was co-chairman of Conservationists for Bush, an organization that backed the candidacy of George W. Bush's father.

1. we need to keep track of these converts
Bush to Kerry.

Off the top of my head, I can think of:

Mr. Train
Florida Firefighters Union
International Brotherhood of Police Officers
my barber

Conversely, Bush has:

Zell Miller

2. Kerry has the Police?!!!
I'm am so happy for this one...my friend was in Boston and she and her husband were right by Kerry's house and she saw a bunch of people up the street in front of his house and someone told them that Kerry was going to be coming out..

So ..she and her husband walked over and told a policeman there that they wanted to see the next President of the United States and the policeman told them that bush was in Houston so she and I were wondering what the heck bush ever did for the police.

This is Awesome news! Police are so notoriously repuke.

6. Slowly
As each day passes, the old guard conservatives and centrists in the GOP are realizing how dangerous this President is. Many have known for some time now, but only now are coming forward and saying it out loud.
These single voices are important, as they will lead to a larger group of malcontents speaking out.

They are tired of the bullying and the threats needed to pass legislation, tired of being told they will be painted as unpatriotic, and tired of being silent and hating themselves for it.

7. The environmental damage under Bush is especially sad ...
when you consider how diametrically opposite President Gore's policies would be.
