Zarqawi Demands Japan Withdraw from Iraq
Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, an Islamic militant with suspected ties to al Qaeda, has demanded that Japan to pull its troops out of Iraq (news - web sites) or face attacks, according to a statement posted on Tuesday on an Islamist Web site.

"This message is directed to the Japanese government. Do what the Philippines has done because no one else can help you ... Your fate will be like that of the Americans and others," read the statement posted on a Web site that has carried previous comments from Zarqawi.

2. As far as results, they would be the same
whether the message was a U.S. fabrication or not; haven't seen this on any Japanese news...we'll see in fifteen minutes.

6. The story origin is Dubai
Gee, Dubai is also the forward base of the Central Command.

Al-Zarqawi sure knows where to go to get his crap published, even if posthumously.

9. Since Zarqawi doesn't exist, the Japanese can ignore this.
That would also explain why the Filipino hostage hasn't been released yet. Of course, it does raise the question of how he was ever taken in the first place.

7. No, he's catching heat because
of the pension fund problems. Also, people don't like his personality, making a total of 56% dissatisfied w/his cabinet, IIRC--NHK poll (TV).

10. I'm beginning to believe al-Zarqawi is a fiction character....
I think it's a dirty plan (little bush and the poodle) to force the allies to leave Iraq, making it look as if it's this strong guy al-Zarqawi that has all the power. This is a setup to give the bushes a reason to cut and run out of Iraq.

Al-Zarqawi, from a remote desert sends e-mails through satellites owned by the US. Same with Ossama. US government can trace the world's e-mails, except al-Zarqawi and Ossama's. I began to have these doubts when I heard Donald Trump question why the US can't find Ossama, a 7 foot giant on dialyzes. And they can't find al-zarqawi either.

11. Purported Zarqawi Statement Disowns Japan Threat
DUBAI (Reuters) - A purported statement from the group led by Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, an Islamic militant with suspected ties to al Qaeda, disowned a threat against Japan that was posted in Zarqawi's name on a Web site earlier on Tuesday.

"To correct the mistake, we want to clarify to Muslims and the Mujahideen that the statement attributed to the group has caused us surprise and astonishment," the statement signed by Zarqawi's al Tawhid and Jihad group said on another Islamist Web site.

The earlier statement in the name of Zarqawi's group had demanded that Japan pull its troops out of Iraq (news - web sites) or face attacks.
