9/11 Report Won't Say Attack Preventable
(this is bogus!!!)

http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&u=/ap/20040720/ap_on_re_us/sept_11_commission

WASHINGTON - The Sept. 11 commission's final report won't declare that the worst terrorist attack in U.S. history was preventable, though some panelists said during the 20-month investigation they believed the hijackers could have been stopped.

In the end, the panel's five Democrats and five Republicans did not want to draw a conclusion on that major point, believing it could open the way to partisan sniping in a presidential election year.

"My personal view is that the intelligence system we have has been broken for a long time," said Republican commissioner John Lehman, a former Navy secretary. "But we wanted to let the American people make up their mind. They don't need our editorializing."

2. I am so.....
damn sick and tired of all these commissions/investigations that will not reach conclusions in order to protect Bush and his thugs....first it is the senate intelligence committee and now the 911 panel giving Bush a free ride....this report should say in big black letters.....WHAT THE HELL WERE YOU DOING MR. BUSH ON VACATION AND NOT HOLDING ONE GOD DAMN MEETING ON THE AL QAEDA THREAT AFTER GETTING A MEMO THAT SAYS BIN LADEN DETERMINED TO ATTACK IN THE UNITED STATES?

3. What a Miserable Failure
the commission is. Sad sad sad. Not going to help any of the 9/11 families. Not going to help anyone, except Bush, by withholding the real truth--just the way he likes it.

4. "They don't need our editorializing" WTF????
What the fuck is saying that it WASN'T PREVENTABLE then? OF course it was preventable, everything is preventable, it's merely the degree of possibility. They should have said it was preventable but the probability of the events to do so was so low as to be practically non-preventable (or something similar)and that would have been NOT editorializing either way.

Tools.

5. Bush appointed the panel - what else did anyone expect?
It's like every other Bush investigates Bush bullshit story during this administration.

6. It it totally unacceptable
that they will not draw any conclusions because they don't want to have partisan fighting. That is such BS. It is also BS to say that Clinton could have retaliated for the Cole. The evidence from the CIA was not in yet officially. He could never have attacked some country because he "felt" they were responsible. It was all * responsibility. The evidence came back after he got into office and as they said he didn't "rally" the agencies. For them to not say he could have prevented it or at least come very close is inexcuseable and I am sick to my stomach. I hope the families speak out. Like they have been, they are all we have to get the truth out.
