Iraq Interior Ministry Says Report on Nukes 'Stupid'

BAGHDAD (Reuters) - Iraq's Interior Ministry dismissed as "stupid" a report in a local newspaper on Wednesday that said three nuclear missiles had been found near the town of Tikrit.

The idea that nuclear weapons would just APPEAR in Iraq, without the attendant technology necessary to produce such weaponry, made it clear that this was nonsense.

First came the report of the nukes, then the counter-report debunking the original report.

Now BOTH reports are gone and NOT in Drudge's archives.

7. i just freaked out over an email from a friend about this...

she heard about it on the noon tv news here in chicago. of course i don't believe they ever were there/a threat, but the timing sure stinks if this turns out to be "true" and would stink like all rove's little tricks. it would blank any tv coverage of the convention if this were even close to being a real story.
