Kenya Wants Its Citizens Out of Iraq
NAIROBI, Kenya - The Kenyan government on Thursday called on all of its citizens to leave Iraq (news - web sites) immediately, and a government spokesman urged insurgents to release the three Kenyans they have taken hostage.

A militant group calling itself "The Holders of the Black Banners," announced Wednesday it had taken the Kenyans, three Indians and an Egyptian hostage. The group said it would behead a captive every 72 hours beginning Saturday night if their countries do not announce their intentions to withdraw troops and citizens from Iraq.

1. Kenya has "troops" there?
Wonder how much Smirky agreed to pay them?

Apparently, not enough.

4. they do not have troops there
Kenya is not part of the coalition of the bribed. There is very little opportunity for employment in Kenya, and its citizens sometimes travel elsewhere for jobs.

6. Many poor countries have their citizens working in the Middle East
in places like Kuwait for example. I believe that there are nearly a million Filipinos that work overseas at all sorts of menial jobs that paid more of what they would get back in the Philippines.

3. Well,
how unAmerican of them! I suppose we're bombing Kenya next. :nuke: If you're not with us, you're against us, and all that crap... :eyes:

Safe passage, Kenyans, and I hope your citizens are released unharmed.

5. Why do they want to hold Kenyans?
I can't say for sure, but I would expect that civvie Kenyans would be laborors for the most part, much like the Philippinos that work in Iraq. Kenya, afaik, does not have troops in Iraq.

It looks like the goal is to get all foreigners out of Iraq.

7. All foreigners that work for American companies
The more countries that comply to save their people the more pressure will be placed on Halliburton and other American companies. That is their goal.

8. I don't know what nationality
the corporate entities operating in Iraq are but I would suppose that they are largely hailing from the U.S.

Can you point towards a link that details the above info? Thanks for the input.
