3. Sept 11th
It is mind boggling that a nation of our size, with our intelligence
and defense, and the military, and the air defense, and this happened.
I wonder if they mentioned the "inaction" by GW Bush on that day
And his failed leadership

4. more:
Committee Chairman Thomas Kean and Vice Chairman Lee Hamilton briefed President Bush on the report Thursday morning and presented a copy to him in the White House Rose Garden.

Bush told reporters that the report contained "some very constructive recommendations" about changing U.S. intelligence and domestic security agencies.

"I look forward to studying their recommendations and look forward to working with responsible parties within my administration to move forward on those recommendations," Bush said.

didn't say that when he was opposing the creation of this panel, which he originally wanted to be chaired by frigging henry kissinger?!

no imagination? the iraq war required it in spades...

why does this whole thing smack of warren report fiction?

They should fire up a fatty. I hear it works wonders on the imagination.

6. Didn't Condi Rice and others...
...get taken to task by the commission for saying basically the same thing? I remember reading a transcript of some of the testimony before the commission and someone started in with the "we never could have imagined" crap and one of the commissioners started citing various plots uncovered by the CIA where planes were going to be used as weapons, including a plot to fly a plane into CIA headquarters. Now the commissioners are saying the same shit that they took others to task for. WTF?!?!

8. None are blind as those who will not see..
or don't want to see
or are paid not to see
or quid pro quo'd not to see
or pretend not to see
or watch and go "it's all going according to plan"

This wasn't a failure of imagination, they were warned and warned again. The only tack one can take when assuming Bush's innocense is to say that the right wing fascists were so arrogant and superior to the lowly democrats that they wouldn't, not couldn't, see the writing on the wall. Because it would have make them wrong, and pukes are always right; God told them so.

Anyhoo, even that scenario gives W. way too much virtue.

9. The endless, unstoppable, eternal war on terror at your local gov. today.
BTW, wasn't Homeland Security supposed to do all the stuff they recommend?

Did they simply ignore its existence?

I just hate the idea of all these intelligence bureaucrats sitting around looking for a way to get the next promotion.

The timing of the release of this report stinks.
There is no doubt in my mind they released it NOW just to kill the Sandy Berger story.

This report is just as partisan as Michael Moore's film. The whole commission was compromised by Sandy Berger's theft of highly classified documents. Berger's heist of these documents is far worse than the Nixon Break in - Watergate. It was a breach of security like nothing we've seen to date. Berger committed a federal crime and must be tried for it. Don't let the "report" wipe his crime of theft from the archives get lost in this silly report - Berger's crime is front page news and should stay there until that man is brought before a court of law.
The democrats would rather everyone weep and moan over the Abu Ghraib than take a really close look at what Berger did - Berger went to the Archives 5 times and lifted National Security documents classified more highly than our Nuclear secretes - what were those documents and how did they implicate the Clinton Administration? Call your elected and demand that Berger be charged with theft of National Security Documents, he should not be able to be swept under the table - just pretend this was a Republican and get to work! To heck with this 9/11 Report. E-mail Fox News and tell them to get back to the Sandy Berger crimes!

Email. She's a complete psychotic.

I only exchanged a few emails with her, when I emailed her the Al Gore airline report, trying to point out to her that her bashing of just Bush was not fair.

She completely refused to blame Bush and/or Gore for one thing.

You don't understand her; she blames every single person in this country, including you and me; see, we MAY have known something and we MAY have been able to do it.

She's looking to blame somebody for her husband's death; and she expects US to keep her in the lifestyle she's become accustomed to.

the open comtempt for the 9/11 families they are expressing in this thread is really disgusting and unjustifiable.

"four legs good, two legs better!" they will truly follow their leaders over the cliff, won't they?

24. Well you see...
these women that lost their husbands due to Bush's "incompetence", wilful ignorance or "it was the plan" - however you want to call it - are very bad women because even though they voted for Bush in the 2000 election - they are Democratic plants - and they are dissing their glorious emperor and any widow or soldier's family that does that - well its just downright UNAMERIKUN - and they need to die too!

Isn't that simple? Yet their mantra is "9/11 - We will NEVER forget"..... they didn't lose anybody but they are very well qualified to speak and criticize those that did.

12. What the hell is Condi Rice's job as National Security Adviser
"As expected, the report calls for a national intelligence chief and a counter terrorism center modeled on the military's unified commands."

Don't we already have a "national intelligence chief"? We don't need more chiefs. What we need is for these people to do their frigging jobs. God help us, why do we have these idiots in power?

15. Favor, please
Could someone let me know if and when the 9/11 families are interviewed? I watched as much as I could of these Bush appointees spewing garbage while talking about what a wonderful job they've done. I've screamed bullshit at the TV until I'm nearly hoarse, and my blood pressure is surely going ballistic.

27. A single bullet theory
Edited on Thu Jul-22-04 12:19 PM by true grit
It was a single bullet fired from an Afghanistan book depository directly thru Iraq. It riccocheted off the corner of Iran. From there a straight trajectory thru three planes, taking down each. Although the Bush's and the Sauds had met the previous day in the same city, there is no evidence of any involvement. Perhaps the head of the 9/11 commission could be handed the presidency in the future.
