Presidential race tied before convention
Funny, every part of this poll I read shows Kerry leading. So even if the poll says otherwise, it's OK for the right wing press to make up a headline.

http://www.usatoday.com/news/politicselections/nation/president/2004-07-22-poll-cover_x.htm

Kerry is at 47% among likely voters, Bush at 46% and independent candidate Ralph Nader at 4%. Among the larger group of registered voters, Kerry is at 47%, Bush at 43% and Nader at 5%.

But Kerry has big advantages when it comes to domestic issues. By 8 percentage points, voters say he'd do a better job in handling the economy. By 17 percentage points, they say he'd do better on health care. Even on taxes, an issue on which Republicans usually hold an advantage, the two are essentially tied

1. I want to know why is it that when Bush is closer or ahead with
likely or with registered voters - the Media FUK tards always go with the set group closer to Bush? Media whores for GOP I guess.

11. without Nader the 47 to 46 becomes 49 to 47 - Only Nader gives
Bush hope.

2. "Likely Voters" Is BULLSHIT
They only started pushing this number when Bush started to tank...More people are motivated than ever before to vote and we're going to have humongous turnout. The likely voter number has always favored Bush and I suspect the bias is somehow built into the methodology. That "registered voters" number is a better indicator, IMO, and I'd be willing to bet the totals for "Adults" is the still better one.

4. I agree
and I know we're going to be out there in massive numbers this November. BTW, this poll was done during the Berger controversy, so it's good to see Kerry not being affected.

12. I agree. Read the poll and
if anyone is going to sit on the sidelines this November, it will be the Repukes.

All of their 401k's are heading south again, Osama is still running free, Iraq is still (and will remain so) a quagmire of death, and good jobs are still heading overseas.

Not much to cheer about for the last four years.

The Poll Results that spell death for the chimp:

Vote for Kerry, certain: 41%
Vote for Bush, certain: 36%

Where are Bush's loyal repukes? LOL!

13. "Likely voters" may be meaningless at this point.....According to a
discussion I heard a couple of months back on CSpan with pollsters ( I think it was a forum with several Dem pollsters).

Gallup has used LVs since the beginning, and the continue to do so just for the sake of continuity.
But, according to this pollster, all polls switch to Likely Voters in the fall, because then this sampling becomes more valid....

3. Ruy Teixeira says polls of registered voters
are more accurate at this point because it's really hard to know who's a likely voter more than three months before the election. A 4-point lead sounds about right, because that's close to the average of what the post-Edwards polls have shown.

5. Kerry leads Bush by 4% points yet the race is tied.
It's like the sky will fall in if they dare say Kerry leads the race.

6. So, the Buffalo Bills actually *tied*...
...in that Super Bowl that we had previously been led to believe that they lost by a score of 20-19. Scott Norwood is off the hook - AT LAST!

9. I lived in the area at the time...
and it took a long time to forget that one. I think we finally got over it by 1999 Stanley Cup Playoff time when Dallas (Brett Hull) got a shot in from the goal crease and the ref gave it to him. THAT, we will never get over.

I'm a Giants fan! :)

But that explains why I remember. God bless Scott Norwood and his whole family.

8. It's a Kerry Landslide Right Now, Actually
Edited on Thu Jul-22-04 05:58 PM by Kanzeon
go to http://www.electoral-vote.com and see.

Moreover, this article is nonsense - because it's electoral votes that really count.

On edit: "Likely voters" don't count people who've gotten pissed off & registered this year.

More conservative BS.

17. Sadly, even if Kerry had a majority of 9 to 1
over bush, the "liberal" media would still say it is to close to call.

18. after the RNC finishes with their e-vote fraud, it WILL be too close
Even if Kerry had a margin of 1000 to 1 over bush, the inauditable touchscreen voting machines report exactly what they're programmed to report by bush-loving Diebold.
