07/22/04: Race Neck and Neck (Fox News)
Edited on Thu Jul-22-04 06:05 PM by UVAlaw
Even Fox has the race tied now. I don't believe I have seen a Fox poll that had Kerry even or ahead. Note how Kerry's leads are "slight" or "narrow" while Bush's are "significant."

http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,126663,00.html

"In the two-way presidential matchup, the poll finds Bush and Kerry both at 44 percent. When independent candidate Ralph Nader is included, he receives four percent, Bush 43 percent and Kerry 42 percent. The new results are clearly well within the poll’s margin of error, as has been the case in almost all FOX News poll presidential matchups for more than three months."

6. There is NO WAY Nader has four percent
He only got 2.74 percent in 2000, and the bad rep he's gotten this time will only bring that down. Sound's like Fox is really amplifying Nader's appeal.

13. Nobody Really Has to Vote for Nader for him to cost us votes
> Sound's like Fox is really amplifying Nader's appeal.

so will Diebold.

Nader's role is to make their rigged election counts believable.

9. Very odd results there, but encouraging
West coast, for instance. I'd expect California and Washington to be stronger for Kerry than backwater Oregon (yes, I live in Oregon).

Or DSW. Arizona is in the Kerry column? That's a shocker.

Florida... I'm still thinkin' we'd better write that one off.

But the best part is, if Kerry only gets the strong, weak, and 1/2 of the "barely Kerry" electorals, he wins with 289 EV. The bushistas are going to have to engage in some serious election theft to win, if this site is an accurate representation of the vote in November.

10. Hoping for some love
I can't see Kerry winning Missouri, Florida, Arkansas, North Carolina (my home state), Virginia, Tennessee, or Louisiana regardless of what the polls say. Unfortunately there are too many conservative white southerners who will vote for the party they think will outlaw gay marriage (which affects very few in a practical sense)or work to keep immigrants out of America. Means he needs to pick up Ohio, West Virginia, or one of the western states.

11. Bush was up like ten points in the last FAUX poll...
and was like up 17 in Pa, and 13 in Florida. I guess they changed the results after they looked like jackasses for not having their polls consistent with other polls done by more respectable media outlets.
