Former NBA Star Jayson Williams Faces New SPCA Charge of Killing His Dog
The Associated Press

NEWARK, N.J. (AP) - Former NBA star Jayson Williams, acquitted earlier this year of aggravated manslaughter, now faces an animal cruelty complaint for allegedly killing his dog with a shotgun three years ago.

Judy Smith, a spokeswoman for Williams, said Friday: "This is a blatant attempt to pile on and create publicity about an issue that a judge has already ruled has no place in the trial."

The SPCA learned of the alleged incident earlier this year, when prosecutors trying Williams in the 2002 shooting death of limousine driver Costas "Gus" Christofi tried to introduce evidence about the dog. The judge disallowed it.

Former New Jersey Nets player Dwayne Schintzius told investigators that he and Williams bet $100 that Schintzius could not drag Williams' Rottweiler out of his house. Schintzius said he won the bet and told Williams to pay up. An angry Williams went inside, returned with a shotgun and killed the dog, Schintzius said.

2. Cruelty to animals is a classic precursor to violence against humans.
Now I am sure this out of control sociopath needs to meet the strictest sentence available for the cold blooded murder of the limo driver. This is one sick assed bitch.

3. cocaine is a hell of a drug
dude, you deserve jail time.

a barbara walters wifey-at-your-side interview won't rationalize killing your dog for being insufficiently vicious.

4. Here is another awful story from today
Dog dies after snout is taped shut, man charged with animal cruelty

THE COLONY, Texas A Texas man has been arrested after police say he taped the muzzle of his brother's dog shut -- and the dog died.

The one-year-old black Labrador retriever -- named Bull -- was euthanized after suffering from heat stroke.

Police say Richard Swift of The Colony -- near Dallas -- taped the dog's muzzle shut last week to stop him from barking so he could sleep.

Swift was arrested two days later on a felony animal cruelty charge. He's free on bond. If convicted, he faces up to two years in jail and a ten-thousand-dollar fine.
