...Been Forced

Whose interests would be served by advancing the notion this story puts forth? Just interesting...

Oh, and remember, they aren't insurgents anymore, but "anti-Iraqi" forces...

3. I always did wonder about the strikes on Shi'ite civilian targets
Always seemed just a bit convenient, almost designed to give bad pr to the "insurgents."

Wolfie, I'm lookin' in your direction.

4. "The big myth is that the foreign fighters are everywhere, ...
... that there are thousands," Custer said.

More evidence against the "flypaper" theory.

5. The U.S. forces have been pushing the "foreign fighter" angle
Now General Custer (irony overload in that name) is claiming that it is the Iraqi resistance (I presume that is what he really means to imply by Arab Street) who is pushing that line. I don't get it. Why is the official U.S. line being altered on this point?

"The big myth is that the foreign fighters are everywhere, that there are thousands," Custer said. "My feeling is that that's largely that Arab street . That's the story everybody wants to hear, and Iraqis don't want to admit that some of might be Iraqis."
