Bush camp to air Kerry video to counter Dems convention message
<CRAWFORD, Texas — President Bush's strategists have spent months acquiring and cataloging snippets of videotape of past interviews and speeches by Sen. John Kerry and will dispense them during the Democratic National Convention to try to counterprogram the message from inside FleetCenter in Boston.

The president is sticking to tradition and remaining out of sight. Bush, instead, will make Secret Service agents chase his mountain bike through the hills of his 1,600-acre ranch in 98-degree heat.

Bush's campaign, however, will have its busiest week since it opened for business 14 months ago. Because Bush didn't have primaries to worry about, his campaign and the Republican National Committee have been focused on the Democratic convention longer than Kerry has. The GOP has leased a two-story brick building two blocks from FleetCenter to house more than 30 staffers, including 10 researchers.

Democrats will have a similar apparatus when Republicans convene in Manhattan in late August.

Bush's ads will go off the air during convention week. But video clips, a daily 10 a.m. news conference, a new Web site and a stream of interviews with high-profile Republicans — at least 90 for television and 75 for radio tomorrow alone — will propagate the GOP theme of "Extreme Makeover," which the party said is a play on words to suggest Kerry is trying to foster an image as a judicious moderate when he has the record of an out-of-the-mainstream liberal. >

1. "Extreme makeover" isn't a play on words
It's a stolen television title. They aren't original thinkers at all, are they? :eyes:

2. Does Bush think that we are going to think of him as being honorable
just because he is going to remain out of sight while sending some dirty-out-of-context-video put together by his even dirtier (as if that were possible) strategists?

Bush, the king of pot shots, the man who has nothing to run on except for pot shots, lies and distortions, the king of pretend ... an honorable man?

only in his delusional world to his delusional family, friends and loved ones.

:P

11. Pot Shots
The king of pot shots who, as a dear friend put it, "Jumped down a rabbit hole!" when he should have been seen standing strong for his country when it was under attack. He was a fearFUL, as in full of fear, excuse for a leader!

3. Does he really want to play that game?
Who do you think comes off looking worse in videotape of past interviews and speeches, Bush or Kerry?

7. I think attempting to make Cheney appear to be a saint is an extreme
make-over. Bush trying to be a responsible, credible and reactive president is an extreme make-over. Bush's campaign is trying to Hollywood Americans by making fact into fiction, it won't work. There is not enough special effects and clever writing to make the Worst President EVER look competent. If Kerry is out of the mainstream, Bush is completely out of touch with reality.

8. Sounds like the Repugs will be on TV more than
the convention! Let's see if 90 Dems show up on TV during the Repug convention....

Sooner or later, Kerry has to address the Flip Flop issue with Bush's flip flops...

WHEN? Don't wait til it's too late....

10. To attack Kerry, they've already blown .. what ... $160 million?
And it worked sooo well the first time, they're going to spend more money and do it again? :eyes:

I guess they never heard that the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.
