Report shatters conventional wisdom about 9/11
http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?file=/c/a/2004/07/25/MNG6S7SR421.DTL

Washington -- When the National Commission on Terrorist Attacks Upon the United States set to work early last year to prepare the definitive history of the events of Sept. 11, 2001, it seemed that much of the hard work of the so- called 9/11 commission was already done, because so much of the horrifying story seemed to be known.

<snip>

Immediately after Sept. 11 and in the months that followed, the FBI, the CIA and other counterterrorism agencies defended their failure to detect the plot by insisting that the hijackers had gone out of their way to enter the United States legally and to avoid detection in the months preceding the attacks.

<snip>

But in its final report, the commission found that as many as 13 of the hijackers had entered the United States with passports that had been fraudulently altered, using criminal methods previously associated with al Qaeda.

<snip>

"I don't think anybody could have predicted that these people would take an airplane and slam it into the World Trade Center," Condoleezza Rice, Bush's national security adviser, said in May 2002.

But in its investigation, the commission found that an attack described as unimaginable had in fact been imagined, repeatedly. The commission said that several threat reports circulated within the government in the late 1990s raised the explicit possibility of an attack using airliners as missiles.

1. Since Condi Is So Busy Reading Newspapers To The Chimp
She did not have the time to do her homework. This is just one more example of how * is responsible for all the problems - inappropriate use of staff resources.

12. That doesn't absolve Condi, though
Her lies are perhaps the worst, as they contradict each other, She tries to be cunning and ends up saying a lot of mutually contradicting things.

2. Report barely touches the tip of the iceberg
Wait until we finally "discover" that Al-Qaeda had nothing whatsoever to do with 9-11 and that Dov Zakheim and the rest of the PNAC Bush Crime Family did the deed so that their dirty agenda could be realized.

8. What do you believe about 911?....
There is absolutely no evidence linking the hijackers with Osama Bin Laden. In fact, OBL originally denied responsibility for the attacks, a very odd position IMHO for a man we've been told is willing to do anything to destroy America.

Even Mueller of the FBI has publicly stated that no paper trail exists connecting 911 with OBL and/or Al Qaeda.

If OBL was behind 911 and had Iraqi support for the effort, how come NONE of the hijackers came from Iraq or Afghanistan. How come fifteen of the hijackers actually came from Saudi Arabia, of which five attended U. S. military schools?

Why was the $100,000 sent to Atta just prior to 911 by a high-ranking Pakistani ISI intelligence officer not explored more fully by the 911 Commission? Why were the links between ISI and the U. S. not more fully explored?

Why was the Bin Laden family allowed to leave the country so soon after 911 with barely a cursury interview, if that?

Here are the key questions: Who ran the 911 operation and who benefitted the most? The 911 Commission couldn't, or wouldn't, answer either question.

16. Here, try reading it agian..........

The point is either they knew and did nothing to prevent it, or they were to busy playing golf back on the ranch to bother with reading petty reports that a known terrorist organization with a history of attacks on American interests were about to attack again.

Damn don't you know anything about golf, there is never anything more important than getting in a few extra strokes with your putter! Jeesh!

5. I think that if they would have bothered reading the Hart/Rudman
Report they would have discovered that a lot of things Condi could not imagine were imagined by others and reported by them as well.

9. My personal approach
is whatever Condi Rice says I look to the opposite to be true. I don't remember EVER having a public official so willing to look the camera in the eye and lie. I wouldn't believe a thing that comes out of her mouth.

14. Who would imagine ....
Edited on Sun Jul-25-04 06:52 PM by TahitiNut
... that Japanese pilots would actually try to crash their airplanes into military targets?

Gosh. Go figure. Nobody ever heard of anyone crashing an airplane deliberately and committing suicide.

On a more serious note:

What do you get when you add "hijacking" and "pilot training"??
How inescapably obvious does it have to get?
Where wouldn't an airline pilot fly a hijacked airplane?
This ain't rocket science.
It takes absolutely no imagination whatsoever.

15. 911 Omission
It was Investigation lite. I am not surprised. I fully expected it to be weak. The Plutocracy cannot be outed.
