Bush tells Lance Armstrong, "You're awesome"
Not Jenna, not Barbara, it was George W. that said it.

http://seattlepi.nwsource.com/othersports/apother_story.asp?category=2080&slug=CYC%20Bush%20Armstrong

CRAWFORD, Texas -- President Bush called Lance Armstrong on Sunday to congratulate him on a sixth straight Tour de France title.

"You're awesome," Bush told Armstrong.

Bush "congratulated him on behalf of the nation, and told him his country was proud of him and that he was an outstanding athlete," White House spokeswoman Claire Buchan said.

Bush spent the morning clearing brush at his ranch but came into his house about the time his fellow Texan crossed the finish line, Buchan said. The president watched TV coverage after the race's finish.

8. He is awesome! And I'll be pissed
if Bushy boy tries to use Lance for his election. Lance busted his ass for all those wins. Hard work Bush Boy is not accustom to. He earned all of his wins. Bush never earned a damn thing.

9. Check out Lance's girlfriend
Her name is Sheryl Crow.

As in, "Oh my god after waiting tables and singing back-up for Cher and the Bangles for fifteen years I'm finally a rock star! Sheryl Crow.

She's not a friend of Team Bush. Not at all.

Chances are quite good that Lance had to hold his tongue during the pResidential Phone Call.

that Lance was a bush supporter and then all of a sudden he has Sheryl Crow for a girlfriend and we know she is no friend of bush or his fucking policies.

of Iraq...She was especially pissed that he lied about WMD. And she doesn't like the shit the bushco pulls on the environment with his Orwellian Clean Air Initiatives!

11. Methinks Bu$h still doesn't get Lance's vote.
Lance, whose girlfriend Sheryl Crow is my brother's beach neighbor at Grayton Beach, Florida, is, self admitted, left-of-center politically. Sheryl Crow is a lefty. I don't know what politics Armstrong's teammate, George Hincappe (my upstairs neighbor at my downtown Greenville, SC, condo) follows, but as artistic as Hincappe seems, I would be surprised that he is a Bu$h backer. Funny connections, there. We are finding more and more Democrats, good Democrats, in the building (only 18 units) every day.

26. Rove is already planting Bush-Armstrong comparisons on Fox News
Go to this thread:

http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=102x710039

And check my post, #50. They had to get this into the media during DNC week. The "fall" from the bike was no accident. The Fox story consists of two lines about the fall and full page about what a man George Bush is, comparable to...yes, you guessed it...Lance Armstrong.

29. I don't see Lance Armstrong whining and blaming other people ...
... when things don't go as planned. Or trashing whichever country he happens to be visiting. Or bullying his competitors. In fact, he has even been known to thank fans in French. (Bush would just blurt out random Spanish, or as he says, "Mexican", phrases.)

Lance Armstrong is more of a statesman than Bush is!

Oh, that's right, I forgot: he knows how to dig in the soil for bugs.

Maybe he can get a job as a bug-digger when his ass is booted out of office November 2.
