Washington Post goofs: 'ELECTION 2000'

The nation’s leading paper on Capitol Hill, The Washington Post, made an embarassing typo in a special Democratic convention edition distributed to journalists today. In large type at the top of Monday’s second section, above a picture of Kerry and Edwards, is a banner: “ELECTION 2000.”

The paper is printing 10,000 copies a day of a special edition distributed free to reporters, but despite the error, Executive Editor Leonard Downie Jr. said he decided not to pull the copies.

“I decided to allow them to remain in the press center,” said Downie told Post media critic Howard Kurtz. “Even though it’s an embarrassing mistake, it’s not a mistake in substance of stories.”

6. A very quick goof on CNN web site an hour or so ago

Above the main story on the Dem Convention was the Banner "Remembering Ronald Reagan, 19XX-2004" - couldn't believe my eyes! WEnt back a few min later and they fixed it...

Is that a "subliminable" mistake or what!!!!

I shake my head at so much these days that it is about to fall off...
