Democrat Goes Into Convention With Slim Lead
John Kerry continued to lead President Bush by two points in a three-way race including Ralph Nader, and by three points in a head-to-head contest, going into this week's Democratic Convention, according to the latest Investor's Business Daily/TIPP Poll.
The poll ended Saturday with Kerry ahead 44% to 42% and Nader at 3%.

Kerry led 42%-40% the week before, with Nader at 4%. Without Nader, Kerry leads 46%-43% in the latest survey vs. 44%-41% the prior week.

several quidelines on interpretting polls:

If Kerry #-Bush # < 15 "Kerry clinging to a slim lead"

If Bush#-Kerry# > 0.02 "Bush has moved into a commanding lead"

That is all...

1. Fuck Ralph Nader
He'd rather have a Fascist than a Democrat as President.

2. And he has the nerve to say that Gore would have gone into Iraq.
THAT really pisses me off. I know damn well Gore would not have gone into Iraq. Nader can fuck himself with razor-wire and drink battery acid.

4. I agree somewhat, but...
A President Gore would be a bit different than Al Gore today. He would be bound by the "third way" politics of Clinton. I could easily see Gore as president invading Iraq, but he would have gotten UN approval and used Iraqi and Kurdish proxies as a fig leaf.

Sometimes the difference is that Democrats are smarter about getting global approval for wrong US actions. I am a proud Democrat, but I'm not always proud of Democrats' actions in foreign affairs.

5. He never would have taken it there!
You know it was Cheney, Condi, Rove, et-al who took us into Iraq.

6. Oh, he would not have invaded Iraq. Why would he have?
Afghanistan, yes. But why would he *possibly* have gone into Iraq? Why would any sane person who wasn't a part of PNAC and/or Halliburton?
