Bush: It reads like a mystery
http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,127097,00.html

"It reads like a mystery, a novel. It's well written," Bush told The Associated Press in a brief interview just outside his home in Crawford. Asked what he was gleaning from the report, he said, "I'm gleaning that was a well-thought-out plot by the enemy."

Dude, it's not fiction. Get over it.

Yeah right. Like Bush ever read a novel.

And why is Bush just getting around to pretending to read it now? Shouldn't he have done that weeks/months ago when the WH was "vetting" it?

There's a word I never thought I'd hear from w*. Next thing you know, he'll start using the word, "cull".

Besides, it's too late to start 'gleaning'. He should have been gleaning in the Summer of '01, instead of vacationing.

26. The reporter used 'gleaning' in the question...
besides, 'gleaning' means to pore over the nasty bits left over and pick out the last remaining teeny weeny usable bits.

George W. is an idiot who doesn't have the slightest idea what that word means!

As he pressed his heaving, moist, ineffable manhood closer to her trembling porcelain bosom, Reginal Pompilious-Pomfret, Duke of Sufferingdale, wondered, not for the first time, whether this Lady Ashdown might not, in fact, be his sister, and resolved to confront mater about the subject directly he finished slaking his Jovian lust upon her ladyship.

10. File under fiction indeed
Sorry, but it IS fiction. They're almost admitting it. Another example. Lehman said in an NPR interview last week that they've "figured the story out". I know what he meant, that they think they understand the way 9-11 happened, but the real truth is this: they filled in some gaps to make the cavemean conspiracy sound more plausible.

Fiction it is.

just to use their own talking points...

"I'm gleaning that was a well-thought-out plot by the enemy."

Gee, if I didn't know better, I'd say that Chimpy was paying a compliment to Al Queda.

If this had been said by a dem, repukes would be all over it. Think Bill Maher.

Bill Maher was shown the door for simply saying that the individuals weren't 'cowards'. In this case, Chimpy just said that they were intelligent. Isn't this the same type of thing?

Also, who is this illiterate creep to say that anything is 'well written'? Chimpy wouldn't know good writing if it came up and bit him in the butt, IMO.

23. MEMO TO CNN: THIS IS WHAT A "GAFFE" LOOKS LIKE.
Need further explanation?

When the President of the United States, upon whose watch the tragedy of September 11 occurred, refers to the 9/11 Commission Report as "A mystery; a novel," well, that's a gaffe. A big, fat, hairy, embarrassing gaffe.

It's more of a gaffe than Kerry in a safe suit, more of a gaffe than Teresa saying "shove it," more of a gaffe than a spririted "Yeeeeaaaw!" from Howard Dean.

Go back to journalism school for some remedial courses, you fools at CNN, who have yet to really discuss this embarrassing comment from the Commander-in-Chief.

29. A mystery? Bu$h should read "The Brethren" by John Grisham.
Included in the novel is a part about how the NSA deliberately conspired to allow a terrorist attack to occur in order to scare the American people and make the NSA's chosen Presidential candidate popular, so that they could assume control of the country and bolster defense industry profits.

Sometimes "truth" is far more fictional than "fiction."

Written before 9/11, too.

"It reads like a mystery" - translation - "It's a mystery that no one will solve because I'm the real suspect."

"A novel" - translation - "Worthless crap."

"It's well written" - translation - "I can't read."

"I'm gleaning" - translation - "what-you-just-said back at ya."

"That was a well-thought-out plot by the enemy." - translation - "I'm to much of a maniacal, egotistical asshole to criticize my friends or myself."
