CBS: Nader to Crash Dems' Party?
http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2004/07/27/politics/main632296.shtml

For the 30,000 Democrats gathering in Boston, Ralph Nader remains public enemy number two, behind only President Bush. Beneath the convention speeches, the delegate banter, the concern persists that the independent candidate will once again stand between a Democrat and the Oval Office.

Nader plans on coming to Boston Wednesday, if not to calm their concerns, then to crash a party he sees as celebrating the wrong ideals. If he can get credentialed, Nader said in a phone interview from his home in Washington, D.C, he hopes to shock Democrats inside the FleetCenter. And if he does, the highly scripted convention will face the one curveball it hoped to avoid.

"I would like to see the bazaar. I'd like to see the alcoholic-musical-political payoff bazaar of accounts receivable," Nader said. "I would like to be there at the convention to watch. I will try to get credentials… I may try as a syndicated columnist, which I've been for 35 years. Let's see if they are against reporters."

10. The blood of our children is on his head...doesn't he realize that?
Without Nader, there would be no President Bush at this time. Without the Bush regime, there would have been no invasion of Iraq. I believe this with all my heart.

29. Nader destroyed my nephew's life.
Nader sent Jon to Iraq and turned him into a quadraplegic.

F You Ralph!

F You to Hell!

4. He has really gone insane
He doesn't even stand for anything anymore except glorifying himself. If he weren't taking so many votes away from Kerry it would be pathetic and comical. I really think he is having some kind of breakdown.

7. No Ralph, your convention isn't until next month
You know, the one all your sponsors, bankrollers and supporters are organizing in New York City.

And if Nader seriously thinks that a President Gore or President Kerry would launch an elective invasion of another country that was no threat to the U.S. or its allies, and squander billions of dollars lining the pockets of the overrich, then I'd have to say the cheese has done fallen off his cracker.

Get help, Ralph.

9. Seriously
"I would like to see the bazaar. I'd like to see the alcoholic-musical-political payoff bazaar of accounts receivable," Nader said.

Ah yes. The bazaar. I'd like to see the homophobic-anti-immigrant-warmongering-corporate-loving bazaar that is Ralph's army of signature-gatherers.

Seriously.

11. He's trying to get credentials *now*?!
What a moran. All the legitimate journalists got theirs months ago.

This just might maybe possibly garner Ralph his first (?) Top Ten nomination!

12. Hi
Hi, I'm not a member of your party. I don't support your party. In fact, I oppose your party. Moreover, I'm actually personally running against your party in hopes of defeating it. Can I have credentials to your convention?

No? What if I hold my breath and turn blue and shake my fists?

No? What if I go tell the Republican news channels how mean you are to me and they use it as their lead story for days instead of covering your convention?

No? What if hell freezes over?

13. He Wants To Hurt The Dems
He even said it publicly. Why else would the guy take money from the Reps. He doesn't work for them, yet he's given in. He has painted himself as a sell-out by allowing the Reps to use him as a tool.

The fact that there are those who don't believe this current administration should go comes to no surprise to me. They honestly feel they could not live with themselves if they voted for a candidate they didn't believe in. That's fair.

I on the other hand believe in sacrifice and compromise. It's what made this country great and helped heal wounds from the Civil War. I unfortunately feel the Democratic Party is not getting a fair shake from the media, who by the way, plays a very critical role in our Democracy.

It's very sad for me to see so many who are being affected by this administration everyday. And yet, people stick to their convictions with the least interest in the reality of Bush being a president again for another four years.

All I can do is vote with my head and my heart. That's why Kerry is my choice.

Good bye Ralph!

15. Nader has lost it
Edited on Tue Jul-27-04 06:00 PM by ayeshahaqqiqa
People who would have voted for him because of ideological purity can't use that excuse now-by taking help from the Repukes, Ralph has sold his political soul to the devil. I figure his numbers will be negligable. Idealogs who can't bear to vote Kerry because he isn't 'whatever' enough will vote for one of the third party candidates who are more ideologically consistant with their particular views. The only ones I see voting Nader are disenchanted Republicans who can't bear to vote for Bush!

has really said some pretty disoriented things. They tinge on the edge of madness or meanness, sometimes both.

21. The past few weeks particularly...
attacking Moore, the Greens, the CBC... what's left? Who is he still friends with?

He knows this is probably the last time he'll be running, and I suppose wants to go out in a blaze of incoherence.

I hope someone close to him ends up writing a book about this strange slide into irrelevancy, it would make for interesting reading.

Ralph sounds more and more like a bad script every day. I think it's sad that he actually still has supporters. Sad for him, sad for them, sad for us.

24. Whatever Ralph
Edited on Wed Jul-28-04 06:16 AM by socialdemocrat1981
There are people that I genuinely and profoundly admire and respect within the Green Party –such as Pete Camejo and our own Bob Brown and Ian Cohen-but Ralph seems to be intent on showing in this election that he never had much in terms of beliefs or principles

He just wants to be the star of the show as per usual
