'Bomb on board' or 'best on board'?

Flight attendants have revealed that 'B-O-B', the letters written on an air-sick bag which saw a flight to the US turned back to Sydney last night, can have a much less threatening meaning than 'bomb on board'.

The secretary of the International Division of the Flight Attendants Association of Australia, Michael Mijatov, says both flight crews and passengers have used the letters to mean 'best on board'.

"The innocent meaning of the acronym within cabin crew and even the general broader community at times, it can mean 'best on board' and simply indicates from the perspective of people on board the aircraft - whether it's passengers or whether it's cabin crew - that someone sitting in a particular seat ... looks good," Mr Mijatov said.
