Chavez Likely to Win August Recall-Venezuela Poll
http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&cid=574&e=1&u=/nm/venezuela_poll_dc

CARACAS, Venezuela (Reuters) - Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez will likely win an August recall referendum, according to a poll released on Tuesday that found a majority of registered voters believe he is doing a good job.

The survey, commissioned by a unit of Venezuela's state oil firm PDVSA, found 49 percent of registered voters against recalling the left-wing former army officer and 41 percent of voters in favor of him leaving office.

....

Most polls have projected Chavez would lose the referendum, but more recent surveys have revealed a tight race as the populist leader spends heavily on health and education programs that have bolstered his support among the poor.

...

Chavez has enjoyed a windfall from high oil prices and has pumped millions of dollars into social programs. But opposition leaders, who have struggled to preserve their unity, are confident they can muster the votes they need to oust him.

2. Thanks for the news! Well, actually, that means there's good news
AND there's bad news......

If he wins, that'll be terrific, by all standards. HOWEVER, we can surely look for Bush to start his accelerated campaign to create a goddawful bloody coup. It failed the first time, as people loyal to Chavez found out about it in time to help.

Next time, they'll (U.S. supported and instigated coup plotters) be sneakier, and try to make Hugo Chavez "deader."

I hope they fail BIG TIME. They will know, just as they did in Haiti, that there are millions of eyes watching them who are "on to" them. Sooner or later, they will slip up, I pray........

3. What about the Al-Qaeda presence in Venezuela?
Not really! But last year the Bush regime floated the story that there were Al-Qaeda living on an island off the coast of Venezuela. The story was quickly debunked when the "Al-Qaeda" turned out to be Venezuelans of Arab descend that own small businesses on a resort island.

Or Jeb and Cruella to count the votes.
