Saddam has had a stroke, says lawyer
Bruce Wilson
29jul04

SADDAM Hussein has suffered a stroke and could die before facing trial, a member of his legal team has claimed.

Jordanian lawyer Mohammed al-Rashdan said a brain scan had indicated the stroke.

"Our information is that he's in very poor health," he said.

This conflicts with comments this week by an Iraqi minister who visited Saddam and found him depressed but fit.

..if Saddam might have died on his own within a couple of years if we hadn't invaded. So either Bush killed him directly or indirectly or he would have died anyway. :eyes: I don't see how that could be spun as good for Bush.

53. It's unlikely that Uday or Qusay could've held power
They were vicious thugs, yes, but it's unlikely they could have gotten the backing to continue to rule. They were generally undisciplined brats who had no basic political talents.

Saddam even punished one or both if I remember.

There probably would had been events happening after the death that would had initially put power into Uday's control. Then support would had started to combined to eliminate him.

...for everybody implicated in the "Oil For Food" (i.e. Oil For Saddam's Luxuries & Weapons) scam if Saddam shuffled off this mortal coil.

I wouldn't want to issue life insurance to someone whose death would be so convenient to the people in charge of France, Germany, & Russia (for that reason) as well as the powers that be in the US & UK (for the reasons mentioned by others on this thread). (If this is something other than a natural stroke, my bet would be on an ex-KGB guy working for the Russians, given that it was done so compentently.)

There have already been reports of cancer -- hey, but stroke is good, maybe better because if he ever gets a forum and spurts out all that juicy stuff about complicity with Rumsfeld, the Bushits and the like -- they can just say that he is brain-damaged and doesn't have a clue what he is saying.

SADDAM'S 'STROKE'

Jul 28 2004

Ex-dictator's lawyer says he had brain scan and could die

Exclusive By Gary Jones In Amman, Jordan

snip

A letter demanding their doctor be given access to the former dictator was yesterday sent by Jordanian lawyer Mohammed al-Rashdan to Salem Chalebi, the head of the Iraqi prosecuting authorities.

Mr al-Rashdan said: "Our information is that he's in very poor health. We understand from the International Committee of the Red Cross that our client has had a brain scan to discover how badly he has been affected by the stroke. We believe he could die because of his health problems.

"We also think an attempt may be made on his life.

snip

"We believe any trial could be months, if not years away - I think Bush and Blair would be happier if he died from ill health."

Well, partly. I suspected he would accidentally fall down the stairs about 30 times.

There was NO question that this would happen. The bush regime could NOT risk him saying anything about his former pals.

I figured he would be taken out in a fiery plane crash or by one of those roadside bombs.

Rudolph Hess "allegedly" hanged himself in prison so Sadaam may eventually walk that same path. Willingly or not.

50. 25 tons of documents
I suspect Saddam will never stand trial personaly. He will either be declared unable to or be dead. He will be tried in abstentia and found guilty without a defense. Does that sound illogical?

I read that Chalabi snagged Saddam documents after he and his gang entered Bahgdad. Could those be what investigators were searching for at his house and office? What does this have to do with anything? Food for thought.

Uday and Qusay would kill each other trying to take the throne, then a popular uprising would usher in a democratic era in Iraq. The leaders of the uprising would be greeted with flowers and balloons.
A thousand American soldiers would be alive, and the national defecit would only be $300 billion. The Abu Ghraib scandal would never have happened. We might have a little respect internationally, too.

75. Perhaps he would not have had a stroke if there had been on war
High blood pressure (140/90 mm Hg or higher) is the most important risk factor for stroke. Perhaps all of the stress caused by the war, hiding in a whole in the ground, and being imprisoned caused his bllod pressure to become high.

The Bushes are war criminals of the first rank. Remember the photos of the "bunker-buster" bombing? Intended to kill Saddam and his "High Command," the thing hit, right on target, and exploded. Unfortunately, the facility wasn't used by Saddam. It was used by women and children as an air-raid shelter. The pictures from 13 years ago still haunt me.

65. Bush Murders a Sovereign Head of State
This is a War Crime. If Kerry loses, the UN may need to wrest control form Bush and his thugs. They have killed this man to silence him. He know about Bush and his oil deals. Save Saddam. We must get him to a real hospital, STAT!

68. Saddam had a stroke?

72. Consider the Source
Remenber that this was published in a British tabloid. You may as well well rely on the National Enquirer, or Drudge, as your primary source of news.
