Report: Saddam has chronic prostate infection
BAGHDAD, Iraq (AP) -- Deposed Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein suffers from a chronic prostate infection and has refused to have a biopsy to rule out any chance he has cancer, an Iraqi official said in an interview Thursday on Al-Jazeera television.

X-rays and blood tests carried out by U.S. military doctors did not show anything more serious than the infection and Saddam seemed to be in good health otherwise, Iraqi Human Rights Minister Bakhtiar Amin said.

He said blood tests came back negative for cancer, but officials wanted to take a biopsy to be safe.

Chronic prostate infections are common, occurring in about 35 percent of all men over 50, but are not linked to cancer. However, routine screening for prostate cancer, especially among older men, is becoming more common

2. Didn't they say yesterday he had had a stroke?
And wasn't there a rumor of cancer before that?

8. Actually, a daily stroke
reduces one's likelihood of prostate infections.

7. Are you familiar with Pinochet?
This could work out to Saddam's benefit - his lawyers could argue he's to sick to stand trial. Of course, if I recall correctly, it was a British court in the Pinochet case, so it's not exactly binding precedent on the Iraqi court.

13. I wouldn't let them do anything
to me if I were him ,knowing they don't want me to get to trial.

What I'm wondering is why does he get to have a lawyer and "say so' on things while there are so many locked up with no representation and as if they fell off the face of the earth? Gitmo etc.?

Thought his prostate was his brain???

How bizarre..One day, he's chipper, eating muffins, writing poetry and gardening....next day he's knocking on death's door from a stroke, and the very NEXT day, he's got prostate problems..:eyes:.

Who is his DOCTOR??? Dr. No ????
