Candidate Schwarzenegger Says to Debate Rivals
SAN FRANCISCO (Reuters) - Arnold Schwarzenegger, famous on film for beating and blowing up opponents, not to mention occasionally gunning them down, said on Monday that he was ready to engage in political combat -- a debate.

He said he wanted to debate Gov. Gray Davis and other leading candidates for California's top job.
...
"I intend to debate Gray Davis and the other major candidates on the ballot," the Austrian-born Republican actor said in a statement.

Schwarzenegger said Republican Congressman David Dreier, who has already endorsed the star of the "Terminator" films, would negotiate the terms of any debates in which he participates.

4. Nice effort.
But you're wrong. Once people come to their sense, they will not vote for Duh-nold.

...many people into thinking that his executive experience as gubbernor of Texas was relevant to being president. What does Duh-nold have to lean on?

18. Well, might want to rethink that one
if you're gonna defend such a twit for seeking such a powerful job with no experience understand the facts.
Arnie lets the taxpayers bail him out and others are holding the bag for his incomptence.

Planet Hollywood

NEW YORK (CNNmoney) - Bruce Willis, can you spare a dime?

Theme restaurant company Planet Hollywood International Inc. said Friday it filed for bankruptcy protection again because of the downturn in tourism after the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks.

The company said it filed for Chapter 11 reorganization in U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Middle District of Florida, and such measures will enable all restaurants to stay open for business.

We all know Bruce Willis, Ahhhnold and that other brilliant actor Sly Stallone own a chunk of the action and they have had to bail the boring POS twice now.

3. Why Davis?
The recall is practically a given, so why doesn't he focous on Bustamente, Huffington, Simon, McClintock (or whatever his name is), Uberroth, and Camejo?

16. That's what I heard too
his name isn't on the ballot so he can't debate. Davis may be allowed to have a taped statement played, was the latest that I heard.

8. More name recognition mileage, is my guess
If he debates Davis, he goes up against an unpopular-but-well-known guvner who isn't *really* a candidate. (Face it, when one guy has to get a majority vote to win, and the other just needs a plurality from a field of a hundred, the first guy just isn't a candidate.) If Ahnold debates actual candidates, there's a chance he could lose precious votes to them. Davis is no-risk.

12. Sorry Arnie... Davis is not a candidate.
Davis won't be included. He's governor, not a candidate. That's a different election. Davis is the target of a separate referendum. He's not running against Arnie.

13. Will work his way up
starting with Gary Coleman? And no Davis is not a candidate. He need only take his case directly to the public.

So anyway how would the LWV handle this one?

14. League of Women Voters
usually runs the Cal debates, and the SF Chronicle or LA Times usually sponsor (pay for) them. Davis and dems would be wise to avoid Times sponsorship. Also avoid broadcast the first few of them. AS won't get away with the movie cliches in print.

17. He doesn't get to debate Davis, he can debate Cruz
They are trying to make this an election between Davis and Arnold, it is not.

This is an election between Davis and the voters and then between Cruz and Arnold.

I hope Davis doesn't fall for this attempt to shift the election to Arnold's terms.

19. Davis IS a candidate!
A NO vote on the recall is a YES vote for Davis. The second part (ie: Ahhhhnold) is only effective if the recall vote passes! So yes, Davis IS acandidate on the front half of the vote!
