Blasts hit U.S., Israeli embassies in Uzbekistan

TASHKENT, Uzbekistan - Explosions hit the U.S. and Israeli embassies in the Uzbek capital Friday, a top police official said.

An explosion also rocked the general prosecutor's office and caused "deaths," a Russian news agency reported.

Israel Radio said the attack on the Israeli Embassy was a suicide bombing. Israeli officials in Jerusalem said they had reports of an attack on the embassy that had injured several people. One Israeli official told Reuters that two Uzbek nationals had been killed in the blast.

The attack on the U.S. Embassy was also carried out by a suicide bomber, an unnamed embassy source told the Interfax news agency.
