Attack on Pakistan PM-designate

Two people have been killed in an apparent assassination attempt against Pakistan's prime minister-designate Shaukat Aziz, police say.

Mr Aziz, the current finance minister, escaped unhurt.

The ruling Pakistan Muslim League wants Mr Aziz to take over as prime minister as soon as he has a parliamentary seat.

But Mr Aziz's candidacy has been opposed by many who think he is too close to the US.
