Nader office shuts down as workers seek pay
Ralph Nader's presidential campaign this week abruptly abandoned the Center City office that housed its efforts to get on the Pennsylvania ballot, leaving behind a mess of accusations and a damaged building.

The office, on the 1500 block of Chestnut Street, was emptied Thursday after a raucous scene the night before. Police were called as dozens of homeless people lined up to collect money they said they were owed for circulating petitions on the candidate's behalf.

Many of the circulators were never paid, according to outreach workers and interviews with several men who had collected signatures.

"A lot of us were scammed," said Ed Seip, 52, who said he collected more than 200 signatures for Nader.

1. This is REALLY gonna hurt Nader ....
Too bad: he brought it all upon his own head ....

I still admire what he did in the past: but he simply is wrong now ...

2. That's your pro-worker candidate there
Nothing but a union-busting, worker-abusing fraud.

3. Nader isn't a beacon of righteousness when it comes to workers rights.
He's a pathetic old egomaniac who uses people and throws them away.

Sure he talks a good game about the *poor/homeless* but his actions speak more loudly don't they?

He is ruining any shred of respect many still had for him. :(

5. More evidence..
to support my theory that the GOP hires homeless people to campaign for them. Since Nader is now another GOP tool, they probably did all of the legwork in getting the homeless people to petition for him. There was probably just a mix-up on who was going to foot the bill.

6. What a shame.
Nader was once a truly honorable and respected man, but I guess he was blowing smoke up everybody's butt all these years.

7. Nader's deadline in PA is Monday
Sounds like he isn't going to make it. This is great, because Nader was taking a big bite out of Kerry in PA, an important swing state.

9. Shameless crude tactics
God help him for doing this to those people. If he were any kind of a human being he would go there personally and see to it that they were all paid for their efforts. This is obscene.
