Ten Commandments Hit The Road
(AP) The Ten Commandments monument banished from Alabama's state judicial building began a national tour on the back of a flatbed truck on Saturday - starting outside the courthouse where the teaching of evolution was put on trial almost 80 years ago.

"The ACLU is still the enemy," said June Griffin of Dayton, an outspoken advocate for displays of the Ten Commandments in government buildings.

About 75 people gathered to see the 5,280-pound granite monument outside the site of the Scopes Monkey Trial - where high school teacher John Scopes was convicted in 1925 of giving lessons on evolution. Many stepped up a ladder to take photos and pose beside the marker.

"I'm glad I didn't carry my gun. I'd probably be in jail right now." Rocco said. "I believe in the Ten Commandments and I don't appreciate what people like him are doing to my country."

14. Later today on "Roy's Rock" ... Rocco's knee "bumps" Darby's leg ...

... and Rocco calls it an "accident." But later Rocco explains he would have shot Darby, if only he had brought his gun.

Watch "Roy's Rock" every afternoon. Share the love!

17. Hasn't Rocco
heard of the commandment "thou shalt not kill"? That's what he's basically saying he'd like to do.

2. What an humanitarian!
"I'm glad I didn't carry my gun. I'd probably be in jail right now." Rocco said.

Perhaps he should consider ramming airplanes into highrises.

Time to evolve, people....

3. Great..
these guy are going to parade around the 10 commandments as if
their some sort of special victim's group. "See, them un-Godly liberals caused this!". I'm a Christian and I'm sick of being rediculed because "good Christians aren't liberals".

8. yes it does....
I've heard too many right wingers imply that your not
a good Christian unless you vote the right way. Well, I've
never read a thing about Jesus voting for anything.

6. Gather round, and worship the idol on the flatbed truck
They should try reading the statue - one of those commandments might come as quite a surprise.

9. Bingo!
Idolatry in support of the Ten Commandments is the keystone of their despicable hypocrisy.

These aren't Christians. They're Krypto-Kristian Fascists.

7. I don't appreciate what people like YOU are trying to do!
These idiots don't like the ACLU? That means they don't like the Constitution!

75 people went to see the monument. How many people have been by to see the Pants on Fire mobile?

10. 10 commandment rock
STUPID IS AS STUPID DOES-----anyone dumb enough to buy gas to haul around a 5300 lb rock is not to be taken too seriously---my advice would be to attend his/her local church sunday and have a long talk with jesus about the meaning of christianity

13. So... they're protesting how oppressed they are...
...by freely dragging their giant religious symbol all over the country for people to see it?

I don't get it.

16. That was one "ugly assed" monument
Looked like the kind of thing a deceased freeper small business owner would dream about having over his plot at forest lawn.

18. God damn these people are freaks
Enough said, except that we have to remain eternally vigilant against this kind of extremism. We've seen all to well over the past four years what happens when religious zealots like these get power. 9-11, Iraq, Abu Grahib, and "Let The Eagle Soar." Enough is enough!

19. FREELY displaying the Ten Commandments in the United States
Why isn't this enough for them? They have a constitutional right to put any religious monument they choose on a flatbed truck and drive it around the country. Why are they so upset that the government is prohibited from endorsing their religion just as it cannot endorse any other.

21. Idol
It's the bible that says not to make and worship idols, not the ACLU.

The ACLU is there to protect us, so our public squares are not filled with golden calves, statutes, or other demonstrations of specific religions.
