Presidential Nephew to Wed in Maine
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) - George P. Bush may still be a rising star in the political world, but he will no longer be among the country's hottest bachelors.

The 28-year-old son of Florida Gov. Jeb Bush and nephew of President Bush plans to wed Amanda Williams on Saturday at a private ceremony at the Bush family compound in Kennebunkport, Maine.

``I am very happy for my son. He is marrying a wonderful young woman. Life can't get any better,'' Gov. Bush told The Associated Press in an e-mail Thursday from Maine.

(snip)

This fall, George P. Bush will leave his position as an assistant to U.S. Judge Sidney Fitzwater in Dallas and will join the Dallas office of Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld, where he will work in corporate law. The firm is one of the world's largest and earns millions lobbying in Washington.

Bush has talked about someday running for office, but his parents have advised him to first begin a career and start a family.

16. That's Jeb's one (former?) junkie daughter
and those are all the same person. Noelle or however she spells her name. Wonder if she'll be a bridesmaid? Maybe she and the bride-to-be can do some 'scrip drugs in the ladies room before the ceremony.

I'm really awful tonight. I do know that drug addiction is a disease.

Incident report from The Smoking Gun:

As for Ms. Williams, anyone who marries into that family deserves what they'll probably get. And I'm sure "George P." has an ironclad prenup, so she won't be gettin' out with wads of cash when he dumps her for a new model in 20 years.

24. Bushes don't enlist . . .
fighting in foreign wars is for the little people, the ones who don't count . . . Bushes are too valuable to the country to risk being injured or killed . . .

I'm sure that's how their thinking goes . . . just as disgusting as everything else they do . . .

14. Actually, it isn't even a compound.
Isn't a "compound" a large piece of property with several houses on it? I've seen both Hyannis Port and Kennebunkport, and Walker's Point looks like a peninsula with one large house on it, along with smaller outbuildings, not houses.

They probably don't like being called a compound, because then people might think they're rich – like the Kerrys.

27. They are

KENNEBUNKPORT — After 10 years as organist at St. Ann's Episcopal Church, Bill Teague is well-accustomed to performing before the Bush family. "That doesn't cause any pressure," Teague said Thursday after practice for the first family's latest wedding here.

Saturday evening, the president's 28-year-old nephew, George Prescott Bush, will marry a former law school classmate at the small oceanside church.

28. Kerrybunkport
Meanwhile, an unofficial Kerry campaign office has opened near Dock Square, where shops stock T-shirts touting the Bush family's connection to Kennebunkport. Inside a small converted basement, Democrats were selling T-shirts that read "Kerrybunkport."

"We're right in the middle of Bushville, and we're obvious," said Wes Macleod-Ball, a lawyer who leads the local Democratic Party.

From the local press:

I'm trying to get info on the t-shirts.
